Temp Sensor Assisstance Needed! 4 cyl
Temp Sensor Assisstance Needed! 4 cyl
Ok, When changing my tranny I broke the sending unit for the temperature gauge... Ok, easy fix... got a new sensor, Done. Now, since the new sensor has been in the car, the gauge tends to read pretty high (almost 3/4). I tested the sensor and compared the readings to the manual, the sensor reads about 580ohms with a cold motor, the manual says it should read between 2200 and 2700ohms... just a little difference if you ask me! Ok, so last night I went to autozone, had them pull another sensor and I tested that one as well... same reading... 580ohms roughly... still WAY off.
I need someone with an ohm meter to test their sensor. Its right on the front of the motor, behind where the top radiator hose meets the motor, its the small sensor with a one wire connection. I need an ohm reading from the engine block to the terminal of the sensor (when your engine is COLD).
Here is the sensor I am referring to:

i might be able to do it
you need to respond by tonight though and give me specific directions on how to do it
i have a voltage reader, if im not mistaken it also has ohm(s)
I hate electrical work
