system problems

I have 2 12" audiobahn flame subs with a 1800D amp in my car its connected to the factory face and i also have a cap, after i installed the amp the battery died so i bought an optima yellow top, i only bought it cuz i heard they are supremem and never really die...

now ive had a volt meter and so far to my amazement it hasnt gone below 12.4 volts which is awesome the only problem is that the other day as i was driving and my transmission started crapping out i look at my volt meter and its well below 12.4 and its at 11.3 volts, i hear optima batteries shouldnt go that low and was wondering if any of you knew why this is happening to me and only me!!!!!!

if this prob has happened to anyone please reply with what the problem was

thanks so much

Well do you have a fuse installed between your power cable and your battery. You usually want it as close to the battery as possible to prevent the battery from dying if your power cable shorts. This could be a possibility.

first make sure you are using 0 awg wire for ground/power 1800w is alot.
because if your car is wired right it won't drain your battery, but your bass wil start straining, and eventually clip the shit out of your(over priced) subs.
i usually go with JL's, punch, mtx. they eat power but sound the best in quality
