if you dont know what im talking about you just kick in the gas when youre shifting it down, you kick up the revs in the time lag it takes the tranny to do it all, itll make it ALOT smoother on you and alot healthier for the tranny, but it can generate quite a bit of noise when youre doing it At higher RPMs closer to the shift point, basically when youre trying to engine brake it, thats like dropping into 3rd at about 90 and 2nd at about 55, itll be louder, but I honestly love the sound, doing it in any of the other family cars doesnt sound as good, especially the Tiburon
does anyone else do this

I think its an automatic for a reason...its supposed to shift automatically...youre better off with a 5 speed if you want to shift all the time dude.

The only time I used any other gear in an automatic car was taking overdrive off to pass someone on the highway, or getting up a steep ass snowy hill in the winter. I dont think the headache will be worth it in the end.

for me the automatic is usually doing its thing in D4, I only shift it out when I want the exra bit of GO, when I need to start from 2nd on a slippery road or something, or when Im downshifting to slow it down at times where either I want it in that gear or when the brakes arent desired, manually shifting it also works to kinda keep me focused and add a little enjoyment to the drive whever im not lazy

what part, if youre talking about the rev matching, I always do it since the damn thing jerks forward like crazy if you dont, as I learned before I learned to start rev matching, just a quick kick of the accelerator and jerking is gone, smooth downshift????

hell sometimes ive got to something like double foot/hel-toe for the manuals in the auto, ill be on the brakes and downshifting at the same time, I picked it up in my brothers 6-speed Celica, but its so much easier in the CL since I dont really have to cock the heel over, I just roll on the heel and turn it into toe-toe, one end of the foot on the brakes, letting off slightly as the other side rolls onto the gas to rev match it down
