Suspension going in....eventually..(?)

These are going in this weekend. It was supposed to be done Friday, but the car is so old that the rust on the rear passenger spindle fused the metal together. We ordered a new part and it'll be complete on Monday. My car is currently in Fort Lee living on the lift until the part comes in... however the rest of the suspension is in.

Rondy is getting his SC put in at the same place, and he said he tried to remove the part with the mechanic and no luck. And it's not even like it has a lot of miles on it. It's a 97 2.2 CL with 49k on it! I'll keep you guys updated as to what happens with this.

This place off of US-1, which is near the end of the GWB.

So..here's the update.

Since the part is coming in Monday, they needed the lift my car was on for working on a Lexus. They put a temporary bolt to hold the components where the spindle usually is and moved my car.

Hours after they started to work on the Lexus, it rained so hard that the concrete ceiling collapsed onto the car, basically destroying it. Feat of luck?

Yeah man...talk about luck.

My car would have been done. Destroyed/totaled and would have never driven it again...but instead I'll be picking my car up this week in one piece...=]

either you got a monsoon or it was a very weak ceiling. That is crazy, atleast your car wasnt there.

where did you find that busing and collar piece for sale? I thought they whole spindle was sold as one piece, with the bushing pre-pressed in?

Also, the location was a little old, but these things happen. I was there the day Johns car was being worked on, they cranked out 3 wheels in about 2 hours, then the last one took 5=6 hours to try to get the bolt free. We trried everything till the rubber finaslly gave out. even after it was no point, we tried to press it out with a huge havey duty table mounted clap, and it just warped the metal. Insane, I mean NASA could use this metal fusing method to build spaceships, it was the stronges jammed bolt I ever seen.

Yep, these things happen. Old buildings fall apart, old cars rust away....it's just all expected.

^Which is always nice.

My brother worked on it all night and eventually he got it done. Thankfully. It was worth the wait though.

Suspension Installed!

Before

After Please excuse the shitty pictures...just got the car back 3 hours ago and decided to take a few shots. Better pics coming soon...

If you look close, you can see the hole in the roof I was talking about, above my sunroof.

This is the spindle piece that was causing all the problems. So fused together!

The ride is amazing, and not too hard. Perfect combination with no noise. Just need to get rear strut and sways...Special thanks to my boy Jae who did a great job. Thanks kid.

Also just ordered a flip-up DVD touchscreen head unit from Jansen. That's the next project.

Let me know what you guys think.
