Hey Everyone,
OK this is whats goin on...i have 2 12" Alpines (type s) and i mean they work...but then like once a week i turn on the stereo and theres NO bass...so i have to get into the trunk, pick up the box and drop it...(slam the subs and box around a little) and then they start workin again)

So what do u think is wrong..i mean i know i probably have a faulty wire but would u be able to know which wire is not working?? I mean would that be the ground wire or the wires connecting the subs to the amp??

If anyone has any info or advice or knowledge...please post!! This is driving me nuts!!

i know what u saying man,
sometimes when i drive that happens to me
all of a sudden the subs go out
then they come back when i lower the bass,

to me i has to be a wiring problem,
check with the dudes that installed your alpines,
that shit does piss me off,

yea...im goin to..u knwo its always somethin...i mean u think "this time" im going to have enough money saved up for my nex mod and then OPPS, oh DAMN that sucks...the car broke down...or the belt broke...or THE SUBS STOP WORKING...and then they $$$ u had saved up goes to fixing the car...this blows...its always somethin wrong...

 

sounds like there is a wire loose inside the box, if they are wired in series, one loose wire would shut down it down. Check all of the wires from the amp to the box, if they are ok, you might have to open it up to check the connections inside of it.

i know alot about speakers.... and stuff.... your problem is you need to take the subs out of the box and burn them.... just playing i just dotn like anything thats not jl audio.... as you can see by my profile.... but really you need to take them out and check the connections on the speaker turminals.... then check the connections from your box to your amp... and if all else fails do you have a bass nob? sometimes bass nobs go out and screw all of your sound up so check that...



as for the other guy i dont remember your screen name but your amp cuts out...it might be because your amp is getting to hot... what kind of subs are you running? and what is your amp wattage... that might be why when you are hitting really hard it cuts out after a while then when you lower your bass it comes back on .... check it out and get back to me...

The problem seems to only happen when my cars been sitting for a whle and i start it...(like in the morning, the subs wont work) Ive got 2 12" Alpine Type S with a Fosgate 360a2 amp....i think its just wire connections...

 

yeh its probably just a conection... like i said i would just take the subs out and check... then if that dosent help take it to a PRO stereo shop... they should be able to test it for you...you know what...... how old is your battery?
