stupid guy at the mechanics

so i got my oil change today, and was talking to this guy in the waiting room about my car. he said that my car (2.2 auto) has the 98-02 accord's tranny and engine...then i corrected him that mine is a 2.2 which uses the engine and tranny from the 94-97 accords...and hes was like semi-arguing with me how i was wrong and shit. i was like, the 97 cl 2.2 auto was the more reliable one than the 3.0 in term of tranny and might even be more reliable than the 98-02 auto accords, since their trannies arent that great either..

so let me ask you guys: mine is the 1997 cl 2.2 auto- i used the 94-97 tranny and engine right?
- and for clarification: the 98-99 cl autos, uses the 98-02 accord engine and 98-02 accord auto trannys right? thats why they up the displacement from a 2.2 to a 2.3...cuz the 98-02 accords were 2.3. so they both use the same tranny and engine.

*btw, im just talking about the 4 bangers. thanks for the clarification

Correct.

CL2.2 auto tranny is called A6VA and 94-97 Accord 2.2 auto tranny is called either AOYA/BOYA/MPOA, but they are all still considered the H4 transmission.

CL2.3 auto tranny is called B6VA and 98-2002 Accord 2.3 auto tranny is called either BAXA/MAXA, but they are all considered the M6HA transmission.

My best friend is the manager of the grease monkey right by your work, I let him change my oil for me, he has for YEARS. It's just easier to let him do it, I've helped him several times, but he handles it. Course when I jacked up the ack and raised the omni's, he sat in a chair and watched, so he doens't do everything for me
