striker plate on door panel

striker plate on door panel
I am having a diificult time putting the striker plate by the door lock/handle back on correctly. Any tips on how to do this without destroying the plate?

try doing it with the door locked or unlocked
you have to work it around the handle/lock
i think it has to be unlocked not sure cant remember but i know its not tough
