I still getting noise from short intake at idle and it's bothering me. Has anyone done anything to dempen the noise. I was thinking of building aluminum box (something like stock filter was in) to surround the come filter. Any thought?

what kind of noise? These intakes are a lot louder than stock, one reason they don't put them on our cars to begin with. I don't know if there is anything you can do about the noise, personally I love the sound of mine.

It's a humming noise. My girlfriend didn't know what I did to the car and she was looking in the sky searching for a plane.

The noise is the air being sucked in, It's kind of like a whinning noise, at least mine is. That is normal, I really don't know what to tell you to mak it quieter, it's not really that loud is it, mine you can hear, but it's not overpowering loud.

It was too loud and took it off. Actually I replaced with stock/rubber tube leaving teh cone filter on till I can figure something out. It's the tube that makes resonance vibrating sound. At first I thoght that I did not tighten junctions well. Eventually I overtighten one, oops. Had to drive to local store to buy it in another car. What everybody thinks about Ractive Filter with Plastic Heat Shield? Is it cleanable like K&N filters?
