Still hearing noise

sup guys?

Aiight heres what happens (i know i said this before) when im going at slow speeds like 5-10mph i hear a crunching clonk noise and also hear it after going over a bump and like when im going slow and hit the brake hard...I looked up my car for lower ball joint recall and it came up fine...Went to cybernation today (performance shop) they said they didnt know what it is?! They installed my camber kit but they said it has nothing to do with that...By the way i only hear this noise from the front right wheel well. He told me it could be maybe my shock is a little bent? But for the most part he didnt know... What could this be?! Right now its just kinda annoying me, hearing a creeking noise all the time(at slow speeds). Anyone know a good shop in broward county to bring it? Thankz!

i think I have the same sound as you, i can't figure it out for the life of me. I've taking the front end completely apart and put it all back together a few times

what also sucks is I think one of my shocks are blown.

I had the same exact problem on a Mazda millenia I used to have. It all started after they installed my springs. I took it back to the shop and they probably thought I was craaazy. It happened only at slow speeds going over small bumps on the streets. I ended up leaving it like that. I had to just deal with it, but it was the most anoying thing in the world even though I could barely hear it.

who ran the vin for the ball joint check...?

could it have anything to do with bushings? i heard once the rubber wears down or cracks, gets old the car could squeak over bumps...my sister has an 98 accord it happened to her....she got nothing repaired and then the noise slowly dissapeared....

ok went over jo0p cl's house tonight he has goldline springs, koni shocks, and ingalls camber kit... he actually has the same exact creeking, clonking noise that i have...Im pretty much leaning it has something to do with our camber kits? The guy at the shop told me it wasnt but he seems to dumb in the first place. What can be causing it to do this...His actually does it on both sides mine only does it on the right side. You hear the "Ehhh" "Ckkk" noises when driving slow, going over a bump (real loud), and hard turning...What causes the noisE? It almost seems like sumtin gonna snap off?! Anything i can try?

clunk

yall might think im crazy but i have the same clunking noise but only when its raining or been raining. it will pop once when i hit the brakes and once when i accelerate. but the thing is you guys have camber kits. I don't. so it can't be the kits. i have sprint springs and factory rims.

lol anywayz i went back to the shop and i figured it out!!

its the control arm hitting the wheel well on the inside
this is because the camber kit makes the control arm stick up more, and thus hitting it, but correcting camber

the guy said there won't be any problems with this, but it'll just be an annoyance
he said the only way to fix it is to take it to a body shop and have them strip the inside of wheel well, thus makin it bigger so the control arm won't be hitting it

otherwise there is no problem

btw...wen he took me car for a test drive for the weird noise he said it was the nicest car he'd driven in a while

okay well try shaking your car, like just push it up and down and see if you hear the sound

i think if the bushings for the suspension are loose it'll make this weird clunking sound too...but u can't really see it unless u get under ur car..or just take it to a shop and have them check ur suspension

I have a similiar noise on my right side, i have u=ingalls installed as well. But that noise sounds BAD!! period. I think its something with the control arm bushings something like that I looking for a shop with experience to look at my whole suspension.

I got Neuspeeds with Koni's

I will post if i get anything.

rExmix is def right... did anyone else have to strip out a little of th wheel well to get the camber on bcuz it didnt fit correctly? it prob needs to be stripped a little more or something and the brushing need to be lubed.. thats all I can think of.. fuckin improperly made camber kits! i have ingalls, koni's, and goldline springs..

I think i've nailed my down to the axle. I'll let you know if it goes away after I replace it.

also, can you guys feel a jolt through the wheel when you hear the noise happen?

do you guys have control arm camber kits, ball joint ones, or those anchor bolt (upright) kits? Trying to decide what to get right now...was planning on going with ingalls or SP anchor bolt kits that adjust up to 3 degrees. Btw r0dxx, with the 2.2 do you see a smaller wheel gap in the rear than in the front, or is it pretty even with your sportlines?

ehh, that sucks. Maybe I should hold onto my coilovers and just do camber for now...ghander's drop looks so good cause of the weight of that v6 (i think the part #'s are the same for the 4banger and v6)

its the camber kits... the control arm is hitting the inside of the wheel well because the camber kits dont fit right... if you lift your cars, you all will notice you can move your control arms by pushing it, or hitting it.. its not supposed to move at all! when you turn your wheel, slow down, speed bumps or accelerate the arm moves and hits inside... that is what EVERYONE is hearing. the fuckin CAMBER kits suck! i hear SPC works the best..

Someone said this already probably but its the upper control arm knocking the wheel well. Happens to almost all who get certain camber kits. You can cut the well to fix the sound, or just let it slide because it doesn't really dmg anything.

I just startred hearing this like 2 days ago in my CL...it's like a crunching "metal to metal" sound from my right-rear wheel well (least it sounds like it)....the thing is, I dont have a camber kit and I havent lowered my car yet...At first i thought it couldve been my golf clubs rubbing up against the empty 30 pack of cans (...of coca-cola...) in my trunk, but i took everything out of the trunk and I can still hear it...its not very loud at points, but it can be...Am I due for a new control arm??? Should I hold off on dropping my car, adn which camber kit should I purchase to prevent this from happening in the future???

Figures, I just spend a bunch of $$ on my replacement exhaust (which i thought've might been the problem at first), and now this!! It never ends. Thanks guys, glad I could search and dig up this old thread for more info.

If it's a squeaking noise, it might be your bushings... check out this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188384

Does it sound like an old coil-spring bed when you jump up and down on it??

bushings do go bad even when your are not lowered.

no its not squeaking...its more of a "dragging/scraping metal" sound, or a crunching metal sound from the rear of the car. Ball joints???
