Stereo Upgrade

My car was broken into on Xmas Eve and mucho CDs were stolen. I have about a zillion MP3 files, so I'm going to replace HU with JVC MP3 player and I want to upgrade speaks (6 1/2s and 6X9s). Can't afford to do subs and amp now, but I need some suggestions on speakers. Please advise

Infinity Kappas or even the Infinity Reference Series. They sound great, and if you're interested, I can get you hooked up for a great price.

Stereo Upgrade

Hey Dustbuster4,
Thanks for the advice. Ihave a friend at work who has his own audio dealership-or at least the credentials so that he can get dealer prices. He's getting the JVC HU (retail ~450) for me at 200 How much are the infinitis-i don't think he stocks or sells them. I'm also in a delema b/c I want to replace front 2 speakers with $ 200 best buy gift certificate. I've got Cerwins on home stereo and their pretty awesome so i was kinda leaning that way. Anyway let me know prices and maybe i'll gets rears.
Thanks
Swclown

Very good prices. Do you mind sharing your source w/us or PMing it to me. The cheapest place i found was Competition Sound but i ordered an amp for me and they gave me so many problems. Then they said it was shipped and they would send me a tracking number. After about 2 weeks of emails I finally got thru to themon the phone and asked about my amp, apparently they are backordered but they never told me and charged my card. I cancelled my order and am currently waiting for a refund. I'm back to using Smile Photo Video I have ordered a few things from them before because of their cheap prices and very fast shipping but your prices are even better

Sure! Sorry to make this sound so mysterious, but the seller would love the exposure, I'm sure!

I bought mine from this guy a few months ago (on eBay), and I can vouch for him!

Here's the link (there's 2 pages worth of all Infinity items that he sells):

I take it you are getting the JVC KD-SH99? Definatly a superb deck!! I had the 77 untill it got stolen but you will be amazed with this deck as soon as you pick up the box... the deck itself weighs like 10 pounds!!

Infinity speakers are very good... they have a great reputation... also look into Boston Acoustics as well as Infinity's brother, JBL.

My choice would be the Boston... I noticed with my friends kappa's they lack a little midrange so they sound kinda "dead".

SumKidwithacl: Yeah thats the 1. All I've seen is the unit on JVC's web page, But it looks awesome! I'm really looking forward to getting, but winter sucks ass. When I get home from work its already dark and way too freakin cold lately to do work. I should have it about a month. hopefully it will be warmer by then, but even if not as soon as I get it, I'll hook it up! I'm prolly going get Rockford or Cerwins for 6.5s (Best Buy Gift Certificate-don't carry Infinitis), Not sure about the rears though: I heard the Infinitis might not fight just right: Something about the trunk not closing properlly? Thanks for replying.

Go with the bostons, thats what I have and I love them. You can get them for around 150-210 depending on your connections... fit great and sound awesome.
