Stereo Help!

Hey guys, I just installed a sub in my car to the stock deck. But since I disconnected the deck it has a security code when I turned the ignition on. And since I bought the car used the guy didnt give me a owners manual. Can anyone help me, besides a dealership?

...but if you get the S/N off the radio yourself and call a dealer they *should* give you the code free of charge.

You'll need the security code. Below are a few places to look for it, should be on a white label:

In glove box
Under the fuse cover in the engine bay
Under the fuse cover in the cabin (driver side floor/next to brake/clutch)
In the trunk
Under in or near the ashtray.

There are probably more places so search your car thoroughly.

I have a 98 2.3 5-speed and the code was under the Fuse cover in the engine bay.

Good luck.

if you really dont want to go to the dealer, there is someone on ebay that gets the code for you for $8. Just search "honda code"

The remote wire has to come off the trigger wire for the stock amp in the back, that is assuming that u have the bose system, with the amp in the trunk

if it sounds "sweet" and does not say bose on the deck, its not the bose system... no amp in the trunk. The remote turn on wire at the deck should be yellow with a white stripe (just above the ground wire)

What size sub is it and how did you go about hooking that sub up to your stock HU?

i just got a basic rockford 12'' (1 sub). they only thing that even hooked up to the HU was the remote wire, which like that dude said is the yellow and white wire on the harness. i bought a converter where you splice into the speakers in the back and run the rcas to the converter. its pretty tight really and not too bad of an install. besides that fuckin remote wire. but thanks to these guys it was easy.
