OK at the risk of sounding totally dumb and ignorant, why cant we just plug in the other airbag, I mean its just an electronic signal that tells the CO2 cartridge to detonate right???, just a tap here or there should do it right

That's the issue, different wiring harnesses, cruise buttons are different, different horns buttons and wires, as well as a different clock spring. I will be doing a full diy on the swap, I just haven't picked up the clock spring yet. I was supposed to get one from a member on here, but he didn't have it. Wonder if cocoa has one He's where I got my airbag from, I don't think he did have one though

You guys must have a lot of extra time on your hands to try and figure this stuff out. Here's an idea, keep the wheel you have.

Thanks for your input, I already have a new wheel and new airbag, so I'll be figuring it out, and doing something that's not been done on a 97, k bye

boring. I spent alot of timing figuring out how to get my NSX steering wheel perfect on my Legend, well worth it IMHO.

If we just kept things they way they are, we'd get nowere and all have the same unmodded Cars.

Now what kind of fun would that be.

and for the record:

before:

after:

edit: i've mounted the cruise control switches properly since that pic was taken.

The same can be said for any mod... nothing we do on our cars is really necessary. The point is to make the car original and unique to how you want it. That's why this community is around.

None of my mods are really needed other than replacement pieces but I do them because I have love and desire, not time, I wish I had time my car would be way farther along than it is

Funny how a few weeks back I asked if I could put an RSX wheel in a CL and everyone laughed at me. I was asked "why would you want to do that? Search the forum." And now there is this big steering wheel craze. I dunno, little strange.

i searched. i noticed that it was about g2 CL's.

we in the first gen section are upgrading from a G1 CL wheel to a MUCH better CL wheel. thus the craze.

Shit, I've had my steering wheel for like a year and a half, I already sold 3 extras that I got since I bought a box of like 5 or 6, we said RSX was silly because people thought the wheel would be too small several people have swapped their wheels as evident by saiko's diy guide, also dragon has had one for years. I've had my CL-S wheel sitting in a box for almost 2 years, cuz I didn't have an airbag for it since I'm doing a FULL wheel swap including bag, but I just got that a month or 2 ago from cocoa so all i need is one more piece and a steering wheel puller and my swap will be done. The other reason we said the RSX wasn't worth the work and to search was because as I told you, you would need a new airbag and clock spring. It's not a direct swap like the 98-99's have with the MDX or 2nd gen wheels

Again, if you're willing to spend the dough on a freakin s2k airbag and such it would be sweet but it's a big conversion, airbags are SO not cheap. May be for you since you work at honda but on ebay they're murder
