Starting work

I have had my 1997 2.2 Cl since I was in the military and now I am at a point in my life where its time to make it fast. At first there were few parts for the cars like headers, chips etc. Guys and Gals where should I start and what parts should I use.

Why not just sell it and buy a fast car? A 10 year old car probably won't hold up to serious modding after all.

Well, I do alot of driving in it and I currently have an 1986 Mustang Gt Blown..and 2004 Dodge Hemi Pick up...super fast. Just wanted my work car to be kinda quick. Was only looking at header, chip, exhaust thats it. Will repaint it, bigger tires etc. It's a really a good car.

There are lots of good things to do with the CL. They will take much time and effort. But, if you are willing to put it to the fire, you can do so cool things.

Read posts from cocoa about his 3.5 liter swap. Others have done h22 swaps and manual transmission swaps.

As for what parts... Damn man, there are too many different tastes to throw that out there and expect a straight answer.

If you have the money...
Comptech Supercharger would be the ultimate. But realize that this would be a custom configuration. There are not many things made specifically for the CL... Most of it is Accord or Prelude stuff that either fits or has been modified or fabricated.

Oh, beware of flames around here for those open-ended threads. Most of what you are asking has been covered. Remember that this is a 9 - 10 year old car depending on your year.

Good luck.

Remember: SEARCH, READ, LEARN, DO, TEACH.
Or the Med version...
"See one, do one, teach one."
