i believe that the older v6 stangs did 16+ on the 1/4, and their 0-60 was in the 8's.....correct me if i'm wrong, but the 3.0 CL should win right?

sorry if i'm wrong...

to tell you the truth you would not be too far behind a 1995 5.0 stang... my buddy has got 1 and hes got a 3.73 rear end bassani exhaust and a cold air intake and only runs a 15.1....

thats a 5.0, meaning its a v8. this is a v6. plus i dont think they made a 5.0 for that generation of mustang. i could beat a v6 mustang on foot-you should do fine.

You should win!

BTW: I beat a Saleen S281 (Supercharged) at the track! It's all about the driver!

I hate bench racing, but just to let you know, (if you didn't already) that the 99 and lower v6 stangs only had 150hp I think an 00+ v6 stick would give you a good run tho.

The V6 Stang will beat you.......if you race 'em going backwards! LOL! Even then, you won't lose by much!

If you had a 2.2/2.3 CL, you'd whip 'em! No prob!

i don't know about that. It would probably be close tho. I just checked the stats to make sure, and those v6 stangs up to 98 had 150 hp 215 tq and weighed 3,065 . My old roomate had one and and it gave my 2.3 with e/i/h (before i had the h22) a good run. He only lost by about a car and a half. He was stock. Alot of them run like shit tho cause they haven't been taken care of, so you never know.

you should be able to take him with no probs. mines a 3.0 and i beat 3, 4.6 gt's and a 5.0 with no problem. all the v6 that wanna race i end up playing with the gas pedal so the can stay on my side while we are racing but when i give it all i leave em like nothing

You'll stomp an older 3.8 stang. Autos are in the 17s, manuals are high 16s.

The older V6 Mustangs, yes. They only had 150hp/215tq. SL, with an OW.

The new Mustangs (2000+), no. They have 193/225. The manual version will edge out a 3.0, the auto is about the same. I have had good luck smoking them on the freeway tho - dunno why.

nope I tried. I guy on my golf team has a 96 GT, and he smokes me. Now a murdering, but he pulls a good 2-3 cars from a freeway roll. (he does have e/i/p tho) Newer ones are alot faster too

uhhhh no. more like a few tenths.

so if a car beats me by 10 cars it's almost 10 seconds faster than me

man!! i read somewhere that you could drop a engine from a gtp into our cl, maybe with those we could take the stangs. Its a lot cheaper then getting the h22 and then dropping in a turbo. If you dont mind me asking about how much you spent on your swap?is it really worth it?

Mine was 3K out the door for the h22, tranny and ecu (all installed) I think it's worth it. Especially since my old tranny went out, and that alone was over a grand. It's alot more worth it if you have high milage on your CL too.

oh and to put any RWD engine in a CL like you guys are saying would be insanely expensive.

yeah if its a 5 speed, with a few bolt ons and some good tires you can just barely break 16 if you're a great driver and the elevation isn't bad.

this person would still get you off the line with his stickshift assuming he gets traction.. once you hit 40mph... you will pull hard on him and get a couple car lengths to finish..

now a 99 stang v6 with mods, intake/headers/piping.. is alot quicker then us.. I raced one when i was stock.. that thing pulled on me through every gear.. won by a couple car lengths..

get some nitrous, run on stock wheels.. you would be surprised how fast a 3.0 will go!! lol

The good thing was that the Saleen driver was cool!

He wasn't the typical "dick" who talks trash afterwards. He complimented me on my car, and said that he'd no longer take imports for granted! He wondered what the "whooshing" sound was under my hood. I told him that it was the Helix Power Tower (that little fucker IS noisy). He thought it was a supercharger!

The dude was cool!

BTW: I beat another 4.6 GT today! From a red light, up to 110 mph! I gotta be carefull. One more ticket, and I lose my license.
