Stalling
Stalling
ok so the wierdest thing happened to me today...im driving about 45 mpg and i let go of the gas, let it slow down and all of a sudden my r.p.m. needle and speedometer needle dropped, the abs light came on for like 1 second then it went back to normal...this happened about 3 times...then the car stalled on me 3 times as well. The dealer couldnt pinpoint anything because theres no CEL on...so I was almost on empty then I got gas and the car hasnt done it...however I notice that the light around the D4 is pulsating/flickering slightly...transmission, EGR, tune up, all that has been done...i really dont know why it would stall? anyone have this happen?
welll my first guess would be ur speedometer sensor plug...or perhaps u need to clean ur IACV...cuz after u rebuilt ur tranny maybe it needed a lil adjustment...and as far as ur D4 flickering...maybe ur torque converter is a faulty part...take it back to tht shop u took ur CL to be a rebuilt on...
i had the ignition thing done...I was almost on empty when this happened and filled up, drove 85 miles the past two days and didnt have any problems...could it just be the gas so I know where to stay away from?
You should never let your car run out of gas, cuz then it starts to pick the sludge up off the bottom of your fuel tank and it gets into your fuel filter, injectors, etc and stalls the car. Coulda been that. I'd still say to take a look at the ignition recall, it sounds closer to that.
Interested in this myself >.> Had a similar issue with mine going 80 on the high way. Shifted into 5th (it think it was 5th maybe 4th) and the car went fine for a little while then it just kinda clunked... and the Engine was still rev-able but it sounded quieter... like i had lost 2 cylinders or something.. i could downshift and the car would slow down etc... pulled her over prayed a little bit.. and she started right up. Filled her up to full i was at 2.5gal and she's ran fine since.

you people with your empty tanks crack me up, do you not realize you have a reserve tank of 2 gals? You should NEVER run out of gas, because once you get down by E, it puts you back up to a quarter of a tank. Once that happens, I always fill up right away
OP, are you getting a clicking sound from behind the passenger side dash when your car stalls out? I get the click, my ABS light comes on, my needles drop and my radio turns off. Sometimes it will do this repeatedly 5 or 6 times. My engine doesn't stall out though.
Is that a 3.0 thing? Several times I've put my needle a few millimeters past the E line and never saw it move back up. When it gets that low, the car take 3x times longer to prime and start up. I'm afraid to go any lower. My gas light also doesn't work, maybe it has something to do with that?
