Squeaking Passanger Seat

Alright Guys, my passanger seat is driving me nuts. Since I've bought the car, its been squeaking like crazy. First it started off where if it was all the way in the back position it would squeak ,now its all the time. All the mechanics don't really wana work on it at the dealerships because they all tell me that they can't figure it out, and if they look at it they gotta charge me 75 an hour. So its driving me nuts. Can anyone tell me what i could do about it, maybe take the seat out and spray some silicon spray on the hinges or something. Also can somebody give me instructions on how to take the seat out? Thanks.

Hey, man, I can't help you but I can collaborate your story
The seat noise isn't as big a priority as the suspension noise, but I'll post if I figure it out...

Yah, mine does that too. I think it is a pretty common problem in the manual seats. I had a friend that had an Accord that did the same thing.

to take the seat off theres 4 bolts... 2 front and 2 rear then some wirring that unplugs from the bottom of the seat. The squeaking could be from loose bolts, so check them before removing the whole seat. The only draw back to WD-40 is the smell... but I guess that goes away...

My seat is squeaking too. Where do you spray the WD40? I've tried to spray it on the bolts I could see but if I take the seat out, where do I spray? Thanks.

Guys,

I discovered the WD-40 fix this weekend. I sprayed it on the tracks and then ran the seat up and down a few times. It hasn't squeaked yet.
As for the root cause, it looks like the brackets are just to flimsy? When I pushed on the seat back I could actually watch them flex.
I'll see how long the WD-40 holds out for now...but is there an alternative? Are the brackets from a 3.0 different?

I just did the same thing. Sprayed the WD-40 in the tracks and it seems to have stopped the squeak. I'm hoping this holds out though. As for that root cause, it seems like its that actual little wheel inside the railing that squeaks. For me, it was happening when the seat stopped. If its not locked into place, it won't squeak. So i think its those little wheels rubbing against something inside that railing when its stopped thats causing it.

ok..here is what happens...the rail on the right(closest to the door) doesnt usualy click in all the way when the seat locks. Its a factory defect that seems to affect lots of 97 hondas. To remedy this problem......give your passenger seat a good elbow on the top of the seat toward the door and it should click it into place..no squeaks. It kinda sux to have to do that every time you move it, but hey...what can you do.
