Grab a Car Audio magazine and look what's in people's rides. All the quys that are serious use MB Quarts. They are usually in all the top stereo car that compete and win. Nakamichi is just a high end panasonic, they dont focus on speakers.

I have read up on car audio over the past year or so and the only place that I have seen Nakamichi used is for their head units....the head units that they produce are top of the line...not the absolute best but one of the best...
As for component speakers for the front then I'd recommend you get the Focal 165W... www.cbrstereo.com has the cheapest price for that set of Focals...but if you don't want to spend a lot of $...then those MB Quarts will be fine..

I have Nakamichi components up front and 6X9's in the rear deck. I think they sound pretty good. Pretty clear. But, that's just to my ears. Others have commented on how nice the system sounds, but I know it's nothing to compete with.

try focal speakers, they are high end line of speakers as well...they sound clear without the sharp peircing sound that comes from other certain components. nak's headunits are good for sq while they generally have a simple stock like look to them. try alpine, eclipse for other headunits as well.

mb quartz are good, and they have won many sound comps., i do not think they are for everyday listening. the components were too sharp to the point it hurt because of the peircing sharpness, the tweeters they use i think is titanium or aluminum or something of that sort. you might want softer sounding tweeters without sacrificing quality sound. silk is softer, i forgot wat focals use, but it isnt titanium or aluminum...this might actually help u find something to better fit you.

my bostons are titanium ... and they sound amazing ... u might want to play with the gain on u amp a bit to get them under control .... or if ur really into it buy a good cross over then u can tweek the hell out of a good component setup ... i have heard my same setup in a civic with a full cross over setup and the difference is nite and day ... and im givin the components more power then he was too .. i just am broke
