spark plug replacement 3.0
#2
it's really straightforward.
buy yourself some ngk iridiums and a gapping tool. Most auto parts stores will already have the sparkplugs pre-gapped when you give them your vehicle model and year, but I still manually check the plug gap before installing.
The plug wires simply 'pop' out of the socket...just pull them straight up. From there, you'll need a socket extention with a spark plug socket (you have to have one of these, if you don't already). And simply unscrew the plug. Install the new spark plug with the spark plug socket. I forgot the exact torque specs, but I just hand tightened it. Do not overtighten, or you will mess things up.
Re-install the plug wire over spark plug.
Done.

I personally would not use anything BUT NGK...they are the manufacturer recommended plugs, as well. They're really cheap too...shouldn't run you more than 15 bucks for all 6. Very cheap assurance for something so vital to your engine, man.
But make sure you buy a spark plug socket and gapping tool while you're there

holy moly this post is from 2011...sorry to pull up something so old. but i need to get new plugs and coil packs ( i didnt even know cl's had this). any suggestions on coil packs? ive decided to go with the ngks im seeing a lot of in different posts. but figured id also change the wires. i dont think the plugs have been changed hahaha..i dont remember.
so im also seeing a lot about gapping for the spark plugs. this makes me nervous haha...any specs or instructions how to do so? i dont wanna mess nothing up.
(man ive been posting a lot of questions lately. apologies yall. car show season hahaha...im not showing the car in anything specific but just want to be ready when i decide to)

actually i ended up getting them offa amazon. i got prime so it didnt take long to come in. think it was like 40 bucks or something. rock auto. ill check it out right now. think i gotta get a distributer...damn.. haha stupid me why would i change the plugs and the wires but not the distributer...meh.
okay so quick question. so when i changed the plugs i just took out the old ones and put the new ones in. figured it was as simple as that. based on all diys ive watched on youtube and stuff ive read etc etc...then earlier i was lookin up how to switch out the distrib and i saw that it was recommended that you lubricate the plugs?....do any of you do that?
any recommendations on distributors (i realize that ive been spelling it with the e instead of the o. hahah..)
