sound system

I am a new owner of a 1997 of an Acura CL. I was wondering what is the best way to set up my system. After getting a receiver, which i think i am getting the new pioneer that is about to come out( it looks awesome), it is just a regular face with mp3 player of course. But should I start with highs or get my bass. I also want to know which higs sound the best out of the majority of companies you all have heard. I have 6*9 pioneer 3 ways and alpine excolon 6and1/2s in my old car with an alpine v12 amp. The amp is awesome but i know there are speakers better than the ones i have. I am also trying to find out how i can put subs in my trunk without taking up a lot of space. Iwould like to have jl subs but they are so big. If anyone thinks that i could put one jl w6 12 and still have enough room that would be cool, and also mention how they sound. i havent heard them in cars only in the sound rooms at speaker shops. Thanks for your info.

definitely go with the highs first. I would recommend mb quart or diamond audio for front components.

as for your sub, get a quality 12 matched up with a 1 cubic foot sealed box. doesn't really take up much room at all.

I would go with quarts ... that is if you want to pay a bit of money ... they are great quality ... and RF has good subs ... not like the cheap ones, i dont know the number/letter names ... but the ones they have in the best buy sales paper would probably be the cheap ones ... go to an acutal audio place and see what they say .... alpine, infinity, and poineer are all good also ... not as expensive as MBQuart ... but ... you get what you pay for ... so just keep that in mind when you wanna get a nice sounding system

subs JL w7 if you have teh bread for it.

mmats is a good name and i also hear good things about MB Quart.

I currently have one of the mb quart speakers in my car while a JL is being sent out on

replacement (damaged). The good thing about JL stuff is the lifetime warantee.

i say fuck the highs and get the subs n amp. stock speakers will do fine if you have a built in crossover in the aftermarket headunit. highs suck with no bump

i went with an alpine 9835 with the ipod link

2004 model mb quart premium componets for up front, and i'm in the process of finding some decent 6x9's for the rear.

the 10W7 is in a sealed box for the back.....now for the time to install it, i cant wait to hear it all hooked up together.

You can add an iPod by using the neo ion from www.mp3yourcar.com it's like the thing BMW uses...

thanks

thanks. mach30 let me know how everything sounds once you hook it up. I really want a w7, but if i cant get it then i am going to get a w6. You should also look into the w6s the research i have done is that the w7 is too clean and people prefer the w6. But let me know as soon as you hook it up.

Does anyone know if some Infinity Kappa 62.5i 6 1/2s or MB Quarts DKE 116 (Discus series) would sound better??

prolly the kappa's

but fork out the extra money and go with the premium mb quart, or at the very least the reference.
