solution to get 98 clock to work in 97 wiring after console swap
you have to swap
-the black to where the yellow wire is
-the white to where the black is
-and the yellow to where the white is
then boom! clock works! i almost spent $50 at the dealer for a new one. no if i could figure out how to pop the metal pins out the connector instead of splicing them ill be set. pics soon. looks 1000x better

blah blah blah
Usually to pop the pins out of the stock connectors is easy. Look in front of the connector or one of the sides. There would be a little piece of plastic that holds it down. All u have to do is stick something sharp in there to move it up and pull the wire out at the same time. I did that with my stock connector for my Seat belt light when i put in my recaros, didn't want to cut the wire so i just remove the connector and taped the wires together...LOL

Thanks for the heads up! I just swapped AcUrALiTy's 97 to a 98, and it makes interior look classier. I figured out how to the get the metal pins out of the connector if anyone is interested.

Is this require an mods to the dash itself or is it a straight swap? I was thinking about getting a '98 Dash and swapping it out on mine. I read the part about the wiring being different, but is there anything else?
On another note. is there anyway to swap out the entire 97 arm console with either a 98 or 99? I like the fact the the heated seat switch is on either side and the Transmission cover is convex with a chrome ring rather than being concave. Is that possible? I know that the ashtray is in the middle as well would that just be a straight swap or would it require alot of customizing? Thanks.

no mods to dash but u have to get the complete console, wood trim, chrom trim, ashtray, clock, hazard
b4 swap (97 console)
after swap (98 console)
