I Have A 97 Cl 2.2 119000 Miles And For The Past Two Months My Car Is Slow To Pick Up Speed. Ex: At A Stop Light When It's Time To Go I Hit The Gas And The Car Sutters Along Barely Doing 20 Miles An Hour Then It Kicks In After About 5 Or 7 Secs, Also It's Suttering When I'm Doing 50 Miles An Hour Or If I'm Going Up Hill. I Don't Think My Trans Is Slipping So What Is Causing This? Please Help.

 

clogged fuel filter. fouled plugs. bad gas. distributor rotor and cap could be bad. sounds like u need a tuneup.

What all is done when you get a tune-up? My car is running a little sluggish too...

mainly r2 plugs. air filter, plug wires if needed. distributor cap, dist. rotor. fuel filter, pcv valve, maybee flush the radiator, especially since some of you liveup in the cold...

r2 means remove and replace....r....squared. airforce crew chief lingo.

 

Plus its an 2.2 auto , it aint like its gonna pick up that quick anyway.

mine does that too...but just for 2 secs....sometimes not at all. there is a post near the bottom...engine performance help....

im going to replace fuel filter....dont think its been done in a while.

 

try doing an injectors flush also...i just did mine at school, and man it runs so smoooth now...its so quiet at idle too....
