Slightly bent frame, is it okay?
A while ago a cement parking garage pillar ran into my rear bumper. It put a nice sized dent in it but I got a good deal on the parts and fixed it myself. However, there is one thing I couldn't fix:
The rear bumper (the actual steel bar) connects to the car with 4 bolts. The lower two connect to the frame. Because the bumper has an arc shape, the impact pushed it straighter, in turn pushing the frame outwards. It barely bent it, but just enough so that I can't get the holes for the bolts to line up.
The holes were lined up enough to fit a nail through, so I bent one through in each just to see if the car would actually push on them. The nails have held up with no visible change.
Will not having these bolts in affect driving my CL?
