slight drop w/o new rims??

i did a search first, and it seems like everyone who is dropping their car also got new rims...i'm keeping my stock rims because the biggest rims i'd ever put on my car is 17s, and I really cant see spending that much $$ for an inch..i would like to drop my car a little though, just to reduce some of the gap, but not enough where it's extremely noticable (and so i can still get up my dirt road)...would it look bad to drop the car w/o new rims, or is just that most people do go ahead and get new ones? what would be the best kit for me to get the results i want and about how much would it cost? thank you so much

I have H&R OE Sport Springs that advertise a 3/4 inch drop. With Koni struts, my actual drop was more like 1.5 inches. They have a smooth ride and the car handles much better. It looks lower but not too low. $140 from www.kingmotorsports.com.

when i had my stock rims I had an H&R sport drop. About 1.5 inches f/r (even though its advertised 1.7/1.5). Better than a pro-kit drop without being extreme (alignment was within specs w/o a camber kit). You may have different experiences with it though. I liked it alot, ride wasn't rough, drop was noticeable without being inconvenient. I still have them in my closet if anyone is interested.

I dropped my car using the Eibach Pro-Kit. Still running on stock rims. The ride is ok (the roads in NY suck), but the handling and cornering is sooooo much better.

ATLcl98... i am interested in lowering my car...how much did you originally pay for your H&R sport drop and was that all that you needed to get? Just curious how much yours are for sale...could possibly be interested!
