Haha alright. This is a weird one. My car started to smell like skunk all of a sudden. Me and my dad are the only people that drive it and we don't remember running over any skunk.

Anyway, the engine compartment smells like skunk and so does the air coming in through the AC. I was just wondering if you guys know of anything that smells like skunk other than CAT, or exhaust system? Totally possible that I ran over a skunk but the smell has been there for about a month and I can't find any dead parts.

 

It's a condensation problem in the hoses. Get them fixed and it'll go away

Yah, mine had some kind of back up where a bunch of water collected and stunk everything up. Eventually, my hose got a hole in it and sprayed water on your feet hahahaha

I ran over something dead in the road, and it smelled like cooking dog food. It was a possom that had been there for a while I'm sure. Shit was all caught up in my heat shroud and cat. I ramped that bizatch and power washed undernieth. Man it was nasty.

So yea funny story, i was driving and i was distracted a little and i totally hit a skunk 2 nights ago, and my car smell like skunk because of skunk. how do i fix it? 2 days later, still smells, and it was raining round here, i was driving with the windows down..

Skunk is quite specific. The only way to describe this smell is skunk. It doesn't smell like rotton eggs or sulfur. It smells like skunk.

The lingering odor of weed smells like skunk.

 

I know this sounds weird, but first, power wash the underside of the car. If that fails to aliviate your problem, fill a garden sprayer with a solution of 40 oz of tomato juice with a half a gallon of water. Pump the sprayer and spray the areas under the car where the skunk hit or sprayed. wait a little while, maybe five minutes or so, then spray it off with clean water.

Oh, In case you are wondering... There is a compund in the tomato juice that chemicaly reacts with the odor molecules in the skunk's spray. It is said to stifle the smell by capturing it within a larger less potent molecule.

 

I'll try that if checking the hoses for water doesn't work AND the air filter for the air system doesn't work either. Havn't tried em yet :P

 

All i wanna know is WTH kinda weed yall smoking... Weed does not smell like skunk.. Hot Box the CL is actually fun and it does go away. Doesnt smell like skunk you need to get some better shit if it does.

when i was in my "experimenting" years some of the best weed i ever smoked smelled like a skunk (sour diesel) next to purple haze,or cali/florida chronic its the best.

 

what does a skunk smell like? the closest things we have in hawaii that could pass as a skunk are smelly beavers.

 

most people think it's nasty, it doesn't bother me that much.not saying i want to get sprayed but.... it kinda smells like your sweaty armpits by your i mean yourself cuz i don't know about you but my own smell doesn't bother me either,like a hard day sweating workin on a car/then hit the gym,my girl says i smell like a rats ass but i think i smell like roses

Back from the dead. I got a quick question.

Could the condensation in the hoses be caused by a timing belt/water pump change gone wrong? Or is that not even possible.

I've been living with the skunk smell by the way. I just got my 14816 put on so it smells like brand new muffler instead of skunk. Sometimes they combine and it smells

I was looking for info on catalytic converters since I need a new one and I found this thread...

In case anyone was curious it was the soap I was using to wash the car that was causing the smell so I stopped using the soap and the smell went away. It was a while ago but if I remember correctly it was that ICE car wash stuff.

Yeah it is tropical, the smell didn't occur until it was sitting in the hot sun for a few days, or if I hadn't washed it again for like 3 weeks. Might not have been that stuff though.

 

I seriously doubt it was man. I use that stuff all the time and it doesn't smell like skunk.

if it smells kinda sweet, you're running really rich or your EGR is not working. But i don't think that smells like skunk. I know my car does that though, thats the only smell problems I have.
