Smile Shift boot switch?

So I have the 1997 2.2l Cl, and I just put an aluminum tuner knob on. The only thing is, the top of the boot is square to fit the stock shift knob.

I've looked up videos of the center console being taken apart, but mine doesn't have the wood grain trim in the middle that wraps around the shift boot, and up around the radio.

It's all just one big piece.

Do you guys have any tips? or links to pictures that have a diagram of what screws to take out, and how to get that center console apart?

I really want to put a new shift boot on, possibly one that I make myself

Thanks guys.

The only thing is my car doesn't have the black center piece shown on step 8, it's all connected.
