Shhhh...

Has anybody built any decent stash/drop boxes or found any good hiding places in our cars? I tend to have lots of things that need hiding and I'm worried that one of these days they will be spread out on my hood under a flashlight during a traffic stop ala COPS. I was thinking that there's some room under the cupholders, but once things go in there they tend to never come back. Anybody tried to build anything interesting, like a false floor in the center armrest compartment or should I just check into rehab now and save the effort?

We built a false floor in my boys civic, never bothered cutting up my CL. I have a few places though. Under the dash works well, there are a few spots. Also you can lift up the carpet on the passenger side floor up at the top corner and there is a good dip that's good for some small things. But honestly, cops these days have seen it all, they'll usually find something if they look hard enough.

also, cops tend to look under where the cup holders are.

without cutting or building.........1.pull out the ash tray and tape it to the bottom of the console....2.pull the cup holder......3. pull out the bottom of your console where the CD holder is..there is some room under there......4...in the back seat there is a little cubby hole under the armrest...its for the seat belt, but you can stick a lil somethin in there....5..endless oportunities in the trunk......hope this keeps you out of jail bro

heres an idea, look in your center arm rest and lift up the little pastic thingy in there and below you have alot of room to work it

also another spot is, if you run your finger along the side of your driver side near the radio and the pastic meets the carpet you can lift it up and you can hide shit in there. you just pull the pastic out a little and you got a hiding place

also what we have done in my buddies civic is where his box is in the back we cut a perfect box shape into the box and then made and iterior box inside your sub box and you can pull out the outside piece and whola you have astash box

i have seen in stereo shops taking out the air bag for your steering wheel but that is a little outrageous but it works.

note: if you take out your ashtray you can reach the above way that i said where you can lift up the side you can drop it in there just like you can put it on the side by lifting it up, i can take some pics for you if you want where im talking about so let me know

there are two excellent places.

One. pull out the ashtray and shove it back under the console (bonus!! when the car is park i.e. when you get pulled over and its an automatic, its almost impossible to get the ashtray out without putting it in like 2nd or 1st gear.)

Two. look in the middle section of the back seats you will notice a little 2 1/2 inch slit in the leather on the left side of the middle section on the bench. Its about 6 inches deep and totaly sewn in so your car wont eat your nugz.

oh and under your hood is a good place too usualy.

Is that slit really supposed to be there?! I thought my seat was just coming unstitched! That's pretty sweet. Now that I read back I think SuperJ was talking about the same thing. Since I usually have a good amount of stuff when you include the glassware (live at home and would rather not leave it laying around) I'm thinking of getting a little bag of some kind and tethering it to something, then burying it way down deep under the cupholder or in the dash or something so I can pull it back up for later. Or, as Got Rice? suggested, I can just stick it in my can. All excellent ideas - thanks.

AD, honestly, it's not a smart idea to roll around w/ your shit if you don't need it, i've learned this the hard way. If I don't plan on smokin the shti stays at home. (but i'm usually planning on smoking). I've just been stopped and searched way to many times, it's alot better to have your rents find it then the fuzz.

I didn't know it was so easy for cops to be able to search your car, perhaps I should be more paranoid -- There are lots of good ideas in this thread though

I hear you ghander. I've done it for years and years - now I'm not going to say that I haven't been pulled over in about 4 years, because then I would be jinxing myself, but I think I'm just getting way too comfortable. Since my parents more or less know anyway I think I'll take your advice - most days anyway...

Yea, I was way to comfortable for way to long. For ex. my senior year of high school I was expelled because they found like half a gram under my seat, thing was it must of been there for months I had no clue about it. That fucked me. I use to slang so I'd always have scales and herb in the car, eventually I matured and realized how stupid it was to drive around w/ like a QP of dank a bunch of baggies and a scale. Luckily I never got in trouble.

That and the penalties for driving w/ the shit in your car are more then just walking down the street. For ex. if you are under 21 out here and it's found in your car (anything, pipe, etc.) your license goes bye bye for a year.

No one mentioned the fuse box nest to the pedals. I am sure that you can stash some shit down there behind the fuse door, but i have no need. I haven't puffed the magic dragon in a long time.

soooo anyone know of a good place to hide bottles?? hehehe Being 17 sucks...if a cop just sees Alcohol in the car, its an auotmatic MIP...if i was 18 (4 months couldnt come sooner) then it would just be a ticket...

Also, anyone know how good the police dogs can smell?? I mean, say u had a stash in your car and there was a police dog near by...could they smell it?? (the reason i ask is cuz i was at an intersection and guess who pulled up next to me...a cop in a K9 unit with the dog inside...and the dog started barking and goin crazy...i got the hell outta there sooooooo fast!! lol )

Yep Ghander, that just shows you how long i have really been out of the smuggling game I have never had any bud in the CL, and i have had it for more than a year. Basically nothing is safe if they break the dog out on your car, and the CL is really too small to hide bottles, maybe in the trunk liner though?

Are you under age or something? Otherwise you can legally keep a gun in your trunk..just say you were going to the range or something. I keep my range bag in there all the time.

the only thing that can trow a dogs smell off is lead or some other strong smell. They got a place here in jersey that makes stash box's for any car. They put pead around the box so no matter what you have in there the dog cant pick it up.

When i got pulled over once the cop kinda just did a quick lookaround of the inside of my car, fucker could of busted me for cigs (im 17) 2 glass pipes, half ounce, fireworks and a paint grenade right in the door pocket, a stolen digital camera and a bat in the trunk (behind my sub box), i hid stuff under my cupholder, he never even thought to look under them

That's what I was trying to avoid - the quick glances/opening my arm rest. Maybe I should just have some of the immigrants I smuggle hold it in their pockets in the trunk...

Oh I see. I think it's more that you are on a student visa rather than being a foreigner. My friend that has a green card just bought a 1911.

Scott, I own and shoot a Colt 1911(1991), S&W 686+, and a Walther p99 and p22.

the p99 is great! It's my main shooter...just had to break in the trigger a lil. At first it feels kinda gritty, but now it's smooth as ever. Have about...roughly 5000 through it. Was thinking about a glock next but dunno, might go with a HK instead.
