It's not Illegal. You can have shaved doors and poppers all day long.

I was going to get shaved handles, but came to the conclusion that if something ever broke, i.e poppers dont work, battery died, etc etc, i didnt feel like smashing a window to get in my car

that wouldn't be the case, on my suburban I have an emergency cord under the car that only I know where it's at. That's how EVERYONE i've ever known who has poppers does.

but in all honesty it took me a long time to get the poppers straight and working permanently. I still have a hard time w/ the rear latch for the door. I think it's just cause the door is so heavy and the solenoid feels like it doesn't get full juice all the time. I've got two new deep cycles that i've been waiting to put in, should hopefully solve the problem

the shop the did it didn't install an emergency cord, or even recommend one? I use to just have a cord that went underneath that I could pull and it would manually open the latch. But that kinked and busted so I installed a little nob I can pull down behind the wheel well that will open either of the doors manually. Do you atleast have a manual latch inside for emergency's? Do you have a button hooked up inside or do you have to use the key fob always? I also installed a little switch inside to open the doors.

I'm about to take the rear solenoid apart, if I need to put the car on a lift to get to it I'll snatch some pics of the emergency tabs I put in.

By deep cycles I was just referring to batteries, I have two huge deep cycle batteries in it powering everything. My family owns a deep cycle battery company www.trojanbattery.com Wouldn't help you in your situation.

i dont kno the people that installed it i bought the car shaved...but i looked for an emergency latch n there was none which i cant blame the person for not doing cuz i live in NY and they look to steal my car...ive already had about 4 attempts to steal my car already (i could tell from the bent silver molding on top of the door and scratches on the inside of the door) back when i first got it and once was from my fuckin driveway!...but id like to find a way to put in a concealed safety latch that i would only recognize just in case

yea, i'll get some pics of my setup, otherwise go find a good body shop. Shouldn't be hard at all. Contact Ross and see what he says.

actually..there is a law concerning the shaved handles in some states...it not enforced much..but its just a "hazard" to cops..if they need to get you out of the car(to arrest or search), they cant open your door, they would have to reach inside....i learned this when i was edumacated.....
