Selling the CL
Selling the CL
Hi everyone, I hae to say this but I am thinking about selling my 2.2 for a mustang GT. Anyone want to try and help me make my decision? Suggestions welcome
I say sell it if your lookin for speed. Face it the 2.2 wont be fast no matter what you do to them short of a engine swap or turbos.
The best on the site is like a 13.
You could run that with a mildly moded Mustang
Dont get me wrong i love our cars and all but if u want fast they are that great.
If you sell it want to part out with your bumper lenses?

well I thought about an engine swap. But I found out that the h22a won't do that much good. It comes out of the prelude. I have almost beat preludes (lost by 1/8 of a car length). I can't possibly do that much good. Oh yeah and if I sold my car, I might be able to sell the bumper lenses. For a price

The place that I ordered it through is in Ohio. I bought the complete short shifter, not the adapter. It was listed for the CL, I was surprised too. But sorry, I can't help you, the place I bough it from is Passen Motorsports in Ohio. I can try and see if I can find the phone number, they might be able to help you. Oh and the Clear bumper lenses? I don't know how much I want, I will accept any reasonable offer.
I put in the short shifter over a year and a half ago. I don;t remember what it looked like, but I do remember that it was about $130, not cheap. Oh and no it isn't hard to install, It will take less than an hour (far less)
Before I bought my CL I was actually in the market for a Prelude Type-SH or a Mustang Cobra. I thought the Ford was the car I wanted because of the performance, but I was more than a little worried about reliability. A test drive convinced me--even the Cobra feels big and lumbering. I know the magazines say it can do 0-60 in just over 5 seconds, but it didn't FEEL that fast. And the cornering was a real disappointment.
I didn't get the Prelude because SH's were impossible to find, plus I fell in love with the CL once I drove it. I just don't think you could be satisfied stepping down to a Mustang GT. It might be a slight step up in performance from your 2.2, but it's a major drop in luxury, comfort, dealer treatment, reliability, build quality, etc.

if you swap in an h22a you'll get noticeable performance, its about 50 horse more then a 2.2 engine.. but its DOHC unlike our shitty ass SOHC.. and theres tons of mods for the h22a crower just came out with everything to cams to rods.. looks good sitting on my desk too heh.. but a modded h22a? forget about it build it up for a few g's and throw a turbo or a shot on it.. and destroy anyone you see, including mustangs
