S2000 Steering Wheel on a CL

Has anyone tried fiting a S2000 steering wheel on a CL? Is the airbag and cruise controls (assuming that the S2000 has cruise control) all compatable?

the s2000 steering wheel is much smaller than ours. I doubt that it would work

Are you saying that you doubt it will work because it is smaller or that it is smaller and what was I thinking? I know all Honda's and Acura's have the same mounting (adapter). It would fit, but I wanted to know if the airbag and cruise control are compatable

i think it would work airbag and cruise control...might not fit perfectly with the 2 connector but its not gonna be hard to rig that. if the steering wheel is smaller then you would have to turn the wheel more than the stock CL.

I think it would fit as well. As long as the mount is the same. You would have to splice a few wires though.

I'm pretty sure a smaller wheel equals less turns to turn the wheels.

yeah 2 times pi times radius equals circumfrence so reducing the wheel size reduces the circumfrance which in this case is the distance the wheel has to turn.

So yeah smaller wheel equals less amount of turning...

I think you are thinking smaller tires equals more rotations to go the same distance.

umm what I was referring to was ythat the steering wheel is smaller, which may or may not mean that the airba is smaller/a different sixe. I had thought about this earlier but was told by a friend that it wouyld be very very hard to do.

But goodluck and let me know how it ends up

P.S. you can take the steering wheel out of the s2k, but you still wont have a 9k rpm redline (I love vtec)

It should work w/ no problem. Unless for some reason they made the hub on the S2K different then all the rest. But basically all honda/acura steering wheels are compatable.

I agree with that statement. I'm just looking for a better alternative to our ugly stock steering wheel, while keeping an airbag installed.

Has anyone replaced their steering wheel with a Momo?
If so, what did you do with the airbag (SRS warning light)? Does the light stay on?

ya right smaller steering wheel doesn't mean less turning. and i'll be stiffer too....tight....how much doesn't the s2k steering wheel goesn't for? IMO i dont think our stock look that bad....look nicer than a lot of other car.

It's going for about $800, for the wheel and Airbag. All the attachments are also needed (back cover, cruise control switches, etc -- another $60-70). That is way more expensive than a Momo but having the airbag is an enticement.

The thing that is terrible about our steering wheels, is the diameter of the rim (the part you hold on to). It reminds me of my father's '77 Buick. I got spoiled with my old 12.5" momo on my '87 CRX. Of course Acura changed that with the second generation, they stuck us with the 5th gen. Accord wheel.
