S2000 Starter

Stayed up until 3:30 am Thursday night to do this

It is an OEM S2000 button installed on my buddy's '93 RX-7. I will be writing up something for his RX-7 forum on how to do it. I will post a link for the "How to" when it is ready(sometime during the upcoming week). I don't see why it can't be used on our CL's or any car made. The total cost was about $40-45. It looks factory on the RX, not sure where to put it on a CL.
Go to the link to see a few more pics.

That's sooo sweet. I've been pondering with the idea of a remote starter. Do you still need the key? or has it been wired so that you can just push the button. What kind of security is built in??

The key is still required, so the security remains as it was before the mod. The button is not powered up until the key is in the "run" posistion, which BTW is cool b/c the words "start engine" will then light up. You must push the button to start the car. If you turn the key to the start position, nothing happens. If you push the button with the key in the "ACC" position or w/o the key in at all, nothing happens.

Working on the "how to" text & RX-7 wiring schematic right now, and it will be posted later today.

Big question.................where to put it in our CL
The RX was easy b/c there was a cigarette light right there......real close to the key slot too.

wow... either way that's too freaking sweet. I'd like to take a look at the how to... if finding a spot for the starter is the hardest part, then I think it's a sweet deal. BTW... do you have an overide switch in case the button fails, so you can use the key??

No overide, but all you would have to do is not cut one wire and then both the key and the button would work. I too love the look!

Yeah, the only thing i'd be afraid of would be the button breaking down and then not being able to start the car! But then if you keep the start position active, it kinda defeats the purpose of a button. Anyhow, it looks cool!

Thanks for the how to!! I printed it up. Unfortunately, it's pretty much in greek to me, but I know people who can do this stuff!! I'll probably go the route of keeping both active just in case, but it's still sweet!!
