Ripping OBX headers out, what a waste
What a freakin' waste of $150 and 2 days of my time.
Ok so I have OBX headers that I installed in the Fall of 07. I've come to the conclusion that once it gets warmer out and I find new headers that are reliable, I'm ripping these off and going to toss them. I'm getting this hissing noise (sort of like a turbo) coming out from the first CAT (or somewhere close), and the coating on the headers them self is starting to peel off....what a cheap POS header assembly.
Anyone have suggestions as to what brand I should go with this time?

Most people know that OBX is a cheap generic brand, I'd suggest buying something more reputable and quality

- Did you have to mess around a lot with the installation or was it pretty smooth? I had a hard time because I realized I didn't have an extra donut gasket, had to drive the car home with the open headers and get it the next day.
- Anything additional that I'll need if I do go with the DC headers?
- Do you recommend ceramic or some other material?
Thanks!

How much are you looking for them, and why'd they come off your car?

yea i got an H22 now.
but my bad dude, i just remembered that i basically promised CLpwner a while back i would sell it to him.
but word of advice just buy a DC header and call it a day. people always say "a header is a header" but i dont think a Megan or OBX could take the minor beating my DC did from jersey streets.

It's not as simple as "Plugging the leak" up.
I'd rather have a fitment that actually does what it's supposed to do, not leak, than have to worry about a leak.

i've learned my lesson with OBX after gettin new spark wires. 3 months later one got fucked and my car started misfiring. Luckily I made it home and used the OEM ones i smartly kept in my basement. Never again i am buyin OBX products.

Guys, I've tried everything and the fitment is sub-par. The company is a damn joke and their products suck.
I've tried tightening, sealing, welding, everything. The header assembly is pure garbage.
Any suggestions as to where I should buy DC headers for the F22B1?

i;ve got 10k on my OBX headers, they aren't coated with anything, no problems thus far. but i also don't drive in snow and try to avoid rain as much as possible,
sounds like you might need gasket btwn pipes or reweld something, i'm not surpised though. obx has no quality.

my advice dont even waste your time buying a header for performance if you have a F22, there only purpose at that point is to make your engine bay stand out a little more.
a Weapon R race header. lol theres only a few true "Race Headers" out there, and thats nothing most of us can afford.

yea i agree i honestly didnt even feel a difference really just sounded different. my dc had cracked on a weld too. so idk man do what you like id just save up for something else. a header on a cl isnt going to barely do anything anyways.

RainX is garbage, doesn't last long, and streaks after a couple of rains.
Aquapel lasts like 6 months, I've had the same aquapel treatment on my CL for like 3 years and the water STILL beads on the windows
