So I finally graduated with my associates degree, and what will I do with teh graduation money??? You got it, the CL gets it.

He has coilovers, so it is way lower than a set of Eibach pros will get you. Thats a pretty decent price for that car too.

If I had money for a drop right now I would get neuspeed race springs, but that is probably to low for some people.

 

Ok, so sounds like the drop it is. What do you guys reccommend for springs and a kit?? How much would the kit that guy has cost me with it installed? I dont want to go to low as i dont want to bottom out all the time with the roads here...I was thinking maybe a 1/2-1" drop???

I'm looking to keep the cost fairly low as well, but i dont want something thats junk and will end up costing more int he long run.

they're quoting $65 to ship the Eibach springs and They KYB AGX are $295 a pair....I could get the full set-up on ebay for the price of that one pair.

Sounds good, just ordered the Eiback Pro Kit and the KYB AGX Struts.

Anyone know how much this will cost me to install? Is it an easy DIY or no?

 

You gotta drop before the wheels otherwise it just doesn't work and you have wheel gap over your nice new rims like that fool ZeroCL

You didn't even really need the shocks/struts with the prokit.

 

Do it yourselve, it's fairly easy. Rent a spring compressor from Kragen/Autozone and get down to buzinezz...


You might want to replace the bushings and control arms... when you're lowered the car will start to squeak because of the added stress on the deteriorating bushings...

i would do the install myself, but there is the possibilty of running into a frozen bushing. which means you would have to order a new one, and your car can be sitting on jackstands for a few days. but if that happens it would be sitting at a shop too, and they'll charge you more for having it sit on a lift.

 

Yea i think i'll just replace the bushings with the whole strut and springs deal so i can just get it out of the way.

The bushings are def not an easy diy'er I paid several hundred to get all mine done on a lift with air tools

Yea i'll def. have these professionally installed.

 

the bushings on the spring/strut assembly are easy to DIY, if you're doing the spring/struts yourselves, replace those bushings at the same time. Save some $$$...

For the control arm bushings, go to a shop and have them pressed in...

 

Drop first, then rims.. ALWAYS... Its really tuner code.

Someone around here mentioned a sway bar??? Danggggg, this is strating to get expensive.

 

sway bars, tie bars, and strut bars CAN come later if you choose.

suspension is going to be the first thing i do with my civic. and i cant wait cuz i know have endless possibilities for a good suspension setup with an EG.

Aright so looks like i might hold off on the sway bars and all that stuff...I'm still thinking that i'll have the bushings changed when i have the springs and struts installed.

I've never driven a lowered car so looks like im gona have to learn, to prevent what I read in your post....ouch!!!!

 

What do you guys suggest for the amount of a drop??? I'm in boston and the roads aer FARRRRRR from perfect (potholes, bumps), so I don't want to be scraping all over the place, also, will this affect my tire wear at all??? i'm still on the stock rims and tires.

i thought u ordered the pro kit.

but my vote goes to tein s-tech. my friend had them on his sentra and it was a moderate drop at best. wont be slammed at all.

 

I did order the pro kit, I was under the impression that the prokit or KYB AGX's are adjustable???

hahaha this is a much more involved than i expected it to be. oh well, I hope its worth it.

 

If you want a nice ride not too stiff go with prokit or s-tech fo sho, but I thought u already ordered the pro? Which bushings are you planning to replace?

 

yea I ordered the Pro, dude I have no idea what bushings to replace, from what i've read It seems like a good idea...I'm a total Noob at modding cars as this is the first car ive really loved, so any help would be awesome....I've searched but theres so much shit to cover i dont even know where to start!

I just want my car to drive nice without worrying about to much shit, not that it doesnt drive fine now

 

Depends on what you're trying to spend in labor, I bought the energy suspension master kit for the 94-97 accord but it only really replaces all the front suspension bushings and one or 2 rears, there's a better set out now with ball joints and control arm bushings, but you're looking at a lot more labor costs to replace everything.
