Rims

What is the recomended offset for 18 inch wheels for our car????
Would a new body style accord have the same offset ???
Is there a width of rim that is suggested?
Any info would be appriciated.

Why is it that in this forum everyone knows everything about "light bulds" or "tints" but cannot answer a damn question on the offset of rims. Is it not as important as how bright your HID look-a-like bulbs are. I thought that this forum was to help the newbie CLers. Well, out of 5o posts I see maybe 4 technical topics and they are answered by the same three people. That means the rest of you are full of shit. All you can do is ask people how bright bulbs are, look at pictures of others cars, and talk about the stuff that you are not going to buy.
My reason for coming out of my face like this is cause I see that 10 looked at my post but noone can answer.

i have 42 offset.
And no need to get upset mang. there are plenty of people that just " looks " at my post and don't answer them. Its normal. If you dont know than expect evryone else here not to know either. Not everyone here has all the answers to all questions. Most people dont know themselves or actually forgot what offset their rims are. I shure as hell wont take my damn wheel off just to look at the offset for your ass and then put it on. You just have to wait till you get an answer or find it yourself. thats the best thing to do.

Thank you.
But you cannot say that majority of the posts in this forum are about shit that nobody wants to talk about. And I know that you agree. Whith your profile I am sure you rather hear about Dyno test or tweaks to the motor. Fixes to little problems. I think that it the forum would be more interesting.

i do agree that some "bullsh*t is on the forums but i just dont read them or respond to them. What we should do is "filter" out what we dont want to view by simply not viewing them. I know that some people with less mods are more interested in something like lights etc but since we have them already, and a little more mods, its going to be less interest to us. I do try to help out by answering the "little' questions especially if its something i defenatly know and not many people know. Its all about patience in the forum and we all have different interests compared to one another. If you dont like the topic or think its sh*t, than do what i do,,, and just dont pay attention to it.

And yes what i really want to know is dyno runs for a 2.3 with I/H/E but i would have to be patient till someone post if im not willing to dyno it myself.

That can't be right, those look just like Subaru (really high) offsets.

--- FrstGenCl, sorry man, but not a lot of us our riding on 18's in here. Which means most of us don't know what the offset is, and plus, all of your questions can be answered if you were to do a simple search, but that requires too much work on most of our parts. This is simply a forum, it offers help and suggestions, we are very lucky to even have such a place. You can always contact various distributors and they could tell you info as well, just think if there wasn't a forum in the first place.

There is no need to over-react and post a response like you did. If you truly want to learn more about your car and make some friends then congratulations. But if you want to make enemies by accusing the entire forum of being "full of shit" I think you should change your screen name why you still have the chance, Good luck getting help from all of the people that are full of shit in here!!!!

As long as you keep the same tire diameter (which you should if you care about keeping your gearing, speedometer, and odometer readings accurate), offset doesn't have anything to do with wheel diameter... only width plays a role here.

If I knew the offset, I'd post it.

If you're posting a question on the board, it probably means that you don't know the answer. Why would you chastise those who may provide your answer?

I've posted a number of schematics and some technical info over the months, but only if I was relatively certain of what I was "talking" about.

Hey man, don't know if this helps...

http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

To be honest I'm not sure what I'm doing with respect to rims either. I'd like to get 18x8s but am not sure if they'll fit without having to modify anything. I want to buy 235/40s for the car.

I went with 18 x 7.5 Racing Hart C2 with a 42 offset. they look great. They fit great with no worry about rubbing. I am running on 225/40 .
