rigging up a switch that turns on brake lights

I want a switch that turns on my brake lights. how would i go about doing this? (i want to use it as a tailgater deterrent, you know, scare the crap out of em without actually slamming on my brakes)

Eh...if you press the pedal a bit, it'll light the brake lights up with almost no brake application.

Wiring a switch like this up would require a few relays, running a power wire back to the trunk, and mounting a switch. Wouldn't be too hard, prob $20.

Just press the pedal a bit (do with with your left foot if you have to keep on the gas), and keep ur $$$.

If you really wanna get em, instead of messing with your factory wires, mount some 100w lights on the rear deck or inside of the rear brake light. Prob highly illegal and stupid but it's better than the other option.

I personally like my strobes/flashers/siren hehe.

I actually had this on my 56 ford... I have two hella lights that are basically backup lights, but on a switch.. I've only used them once on a friend, but he was verry supprised...

Since then I put in a gm tilt colum that has a reverse light switch... No more fun for the stapman.

I did this on my old Talon TSI.
All I did was find the wire than ran from the switch at the brake pedal and break into it. Then I installed a cheapo 12-volt switch under the dash and ran wires from each end of the wire I broke into. No need for relays or anything. Just a couple pieces of wire and a switch.

I originally installed it so that I could cut out the brake lights when I saw a cop and I needed to slow down quickly and without being noticed.

But it had the side benefit of scaring the hell out of tailgaters.
If you jam on the brakes and the tailgater doesn't see brake lights you would be amazed at how how hard they need to jam on their brakes to not hit you. I actually had one particularly annoying person who had to skid to the off the side of the road. No big deal but she stayed off my ass after that.
Works like a charm.

That's the opposite of what he wants to accomplish. He wants to trigger the lights on, not cut them off.

I have a friend who has a kill switch for all his rears, he claims it worked once.
