Resetting srs light
Resetting srs light
Does anyone know how to reset the srs light on the dash. I purchased my car from an auto rebuild and they claimed that the airbags were replaced, just that they carried no knowledge towards resetting the light. The Acura dealership said that they would reset the light but it would cost about $85.00. Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather do this myself!!! So does anyone have any directions on how to do so?? Thankx!!!
To reset the SRS light you have to do it from within the fuse box.. i had a prob recently where my alternator died, and i was constantly disconnecting the battery and stuff while putting it in.. The SRS system operates off the fuse box, so you need to go in there with a safety pin and reset it.. its down above the pedals if i remember correctly
there is a yellow plug on the left side down with the fuse box. You cant miss the damn thing it is the only thing yellow down there. Now unplug the connection , install jumper wire ( a paper clip will do) by the way its only a two prong plug so install paper clip into the plug, Now turn on ignition and your srs light will go out, you only have six seconds to remove the jumper, then reinstall jumper after light comes back on within 4 secs, then within 6 secs you must remove the jumper wire and your srs light will blink twice telling you it has reset.
I just did this a few weeks ago so I know it works. But I'm pulling everything from memory . So try it Should only take you about five minutes. And I will bill you for the $85.00 hahahahaha

Oh, btw, make sure its not a serious problem with your airbags first. Better safe than sorry!
