Well, after over 30 mins of searching and reading, i still haven't found a way to remove the climate control for a 97 3.0...so i decided to find a way myself...i removed the clock/trim and the head unit (i love the 97's interior, everything just pops out like legos...)
But 20 mins + after removing the head unit, i just managed to remove the 2 bolts directly under the climate control...i was afraid that the wood trim would snap so i stopped prying...
In the end i couldn't do what i wanted to do...can anyone give me instructions on how to remove the climate control assembly?? Thanks...

just curious of why u would want to remove the climate control? If u wanna control the air by clicks... or low/med/high settings... turn auto on... then hit the Fan button... and go up from there.

Try that tutorial that I constructed.. Send me a PM if you need any help (best way for me to respond to you). You need to remove all that stuff to get the woodgrain removed.. I am almost 99% positive that you need the woodgrain removed before you can take the climate control out because I think there are two screws for the climate control.
Be warned though that the woodgrain will more than likely crack unless you take very very careful measures not to break it. It can be removed without cracking it, but take your time.
Good Luck.
