OK this might sound Crazy but how about a LED tail light Converison like the Cadi - Deville.

the whole thing is red anyway , why not ?

i guess the thing would be pattern and blub layout

what are LED's in this case plug'ed into , some kind of board?

I have a feeling it's possable , the question is how and how much

I thing it would bang'in and make people wonder what the hell is that .

 

I would have to say that anything is possible if you have enough $$$$$...I have never heard/seen this done to a CL...so i doubt you'll get any tips from people on how to do this...

they have Red LED stop light bulbs for sale you just put htem in your stock socket. I haven't seen how they look on stock taillights tho so give it a whirl...

 

This isn't my PS job, but I think our lights would look PHATTY with euro's on 'em .

 

It can be done... but LED's tend to get expensive, especially since you need quite a few to cover the inside of the lens. The LED bulbs are the cheaper way to go, but they make your "brake light" idiot light come on and if you put them in your turn signals, your flasher acts up.

I ment covering the whole red section with red leds And LEAVING THE RED BULB COVER ON .

No way in hell I would think about " ALT.'s" , that red slant is signature. some things just don't need to be "EURO"

i know exactly what you are saying pete... it would be possible, and it would be rather expensive... you'd need a couple hundred LED's and a bunch of resistors and a few circuit boards shaped to the inside of the housing, the hardest part would be acomadating the curved lens. you'd have to mount the LED's on the CB's so they have a slope to them so they are all equal distance from the lens.

This is totally possible, but honestly if you have to ask if it can be done, its probaly better left up to someone else to do... im not trying to bash you, its just that if you know electronics you'd be able to come up with something.

I've actually considered doing the same thing. Hewlett Packard designed and supplied the LEDs for the big Cadillac (SnapLEDs) and I contacted them, and they are available for sale to individuals. Check here http://www.lumileds.com/products/list/snap.htm
