if anything running 2 will give you worse coverage, since its a fact that running 2 detectors in close proximit at the same time causes negative interferance for the recievers since all detectors give off some LO leakage......... even the stealth STI

LIDAR, same as RADAR in theory but with a beam of coherent IR light......... its damned effective at catching speeders, and the cop can pick out 1 target from a group of cars since the beam doesnt diffuse too much at all..... makes it hard for any Detector to consistently detect it, most top end models do a pretty good job, but its too late when youre hit anyways............. only real defense is some Veil headlight coating and a laser jammer........... I can attest to the Veil, my black CL coated the lights and no front plate pushed back a laser gun to 300 feet......... now average Punchthroughs for Laser are near 2500 feet for cars like ours

YES its concealed more or less...... but the fact remains that its LO leaks are in the areas picked up by most RDD (Radar Detector-detectors) used by cops in banned areas..... only real good stealth RD out there is the Beltronics STI Driver.......... it has LO leaks like any other SUper Heterodyne unit, but its at a different frequency than those scanned by RDDs of today

and for the most part Remote mount RDs arent all that great until you step up to like the Escort SR7+ (the one with the jammer heads)...... Im sure the STI will beat that thing all the time in terms of Performance

Any newer detector can detect lasers too, but you need a jammer in order to block them.

yea, I think a jammer is better than a radar detector sometimes, but using both of them is the best protection you could ask for at the moment

any of those $300 jammers are OK, but if you want results you pay around 500 or so Brittish pounds (thats what like 700 USD) for a good dual head Laser Pro Park, it s a parking sensor for those in Jammer illegal states.......... it just happens to jam the police laser guns... if you catch my drift

but at what time is it not worth spending the money? If you drop $800 on a radar and jammer, thats like 4 tickets right there lol

4 tickets? Maybe, but each one of those tickets and each point raises your insurance endless amounts. So, let's say you get 4 tickets, $200 a piece, there's your radar. Let's say those 4 tickets add up to 8 points (and not suspended license). Let's say your annual insurance is $1,200, with those 8 points you're looking for atleast $3,500 a year. That's a lot of money and it takes two years to disappear. I'd recommend spending as much money as necessary on a radar detector if you have a need for speed.

I spent $400 on my V1 and it's completely worth it. I never go much over 10 mph over in a 65, but even that much helps me detect a radar and a stupid ticket. The radar detector will last years, which for a fast driver could be more than 4 tickets.

Just my opinion

In my opinion radar detectors are worthless. The best way to avoid getting a ticket is just to know how a cop thinks. I won't go into any further detail due to the ever possible investigating eyes but I had a Cobra and still got tickets from time to time. Since then I've dumped the radar detctor and just been "extra careful." I've been clean for years.

detectors are illegal in some Canadian provinces...... like I know BC allows them, but like Ontario doesnt.......... funny thing is that Escort X50s and Bel RX-65s are made in Ontario

All radar detectors are pretty much the same. I've used several kinds of radar detectors in the 19 years I've been driving and they all have similar if not the same limitations.

Radar detectors are illegal in Conneticut and Virginia as far as I know.

well yeah, in basic principle its all the same and what not, but there are plenty of little things an enthusiate like myself can see in high end models that arent on the cheapo cobras.... even the expensive CObras, whistlers and all them some small but important ones are multiple signal tracking and a full text display..... some nitpicky ones are better long range detection, and off axis signal reception, and those little things

Cobras are shit because there are the little lies that people buy into.......... lie for instance there are only really 4 things to need to watch out for in driving, 1 isnt so big but still exists....... those are RADAR, your X, K, and Ka bands, and then Laser........... Cobra advertises 12 band detection..... BS, it tracks all 3 Radar bands (a given), 4 kinds of laser (BS, all Laser is 904nm IR, they split it into 4 different guns, all detectors will detect all guns except maybe 1 is iffy, and they all just scan Laser)..... then theyve got the other little things that dont matter such as POP, SWS, and that emergency vehicle detection nonsense........... CObra is the widespread little brand that is excellent in making money but doesnt deliver, same with RMR and K40.......... if you want a cheaper detector, get a cheaper unit from Beltronics, or a Whistler if anything else............... I personally couldnt tollerate anything outside the Top 3 tier performance (Escort X50, V1, and Bel RX-65)

and then theres the 360 degree protection....... no way, cobra's field of view is smaller than most other detectors out there, its antennas arent built for it, then the only one that really comes close is the Valentine 1 with its Front/Rear Dual Antenna layout........... all others just count on reflections off objects in front being recieved by the frontal antenna, thus limiting its ability to detecto racks to the rear
