Quick tint question
Quick tint question
Ok on my car i have 5% in back 30% in the front.. my car is black on black so the 30 does look a bit darker but its not good enough i want all the same. I have the tint with metalic peices? in it, it isnt that reflective tint or the straight black tint. Anyways in night driving will i really be able to see a huge difference between 15% and 5% in terms of visability? If it doesnt make THAT much of a difference im gonna just get 5% BLACK all around.. thanks guys ;]
you wont see that big of differrence between 15 and 5 but i can tell you that it is hard to see out of 5% at night. definatly takes some getting used to... there arnt any tint hating cops in CA????

Hah....if you found yourself rollin down the windows to see out of 30%, then youre gonna have a helluva time seeing outta 5% at night. I, myself, have 5% all around, and i love it...couldnt ask for better. Ive been through a few different percentages of tint...first i had 20%, and that was real easy to see out of, imo....then i had 15%, still easy to see out of. For me, its just easy to see through tints for some reason. I have friends who think 15% is way too hard to see out of. But anyway, in the end, i decided to get my front two windows matching up with my back three, and its awesome. Yes, it does take some getting used to, at first...but its pretty easy to see out of after u get the hang of it. Granted, if youre in a poorly lit area, its gonna be hard to see, but thats how it is even with the lightest tints. The only problems i have are sometimes backing up in tight areas, i roll down my windows to see, just to be safe. Also....looking into your side mirrors at night is kind of hard with 5% tints. All you really see are dim headlights behind/to the side of you. So be careful with that, at first, too. If youre in an area where youre always on well-lit boulevards and such, then id definitely say go with 5% all around. Good luck, man! Hope it works out for you.
30% on the FRONT WINDOW?? asking for death.. oh yeah and to further f yourself up you cant roll down your windows for a few days (everybody knows this) and thats whe your trying to get used tothe 5%.. thats teh best part
well i shouldnt say i roll it down to see its just a habit bc the back is 5%, when im on the freeway is usually when i get probs. i bet if i put 5% all round it wouldnt be so diff.. last night i was sittin in my car movin my head back n forth lookin @ the same objects from 30% window to 5% it would take a few weeks id get used to it lol
thx CLintheSTL im a prob do it by xmas time again its not THAT big of a deal it doesnt look too bad when the cars all clean.. but i bet 5% all around would look 2903483x better.

^^ lol...yeah dude, thats exactly what i did when i was deciding whether to get 5% on the front two or not. Id keep leaning back and lookin through the small back windows to see how dark it looked on certain parts of the road, depending on lighting and stuff. Then i finally decided to go for it, and its awesome. After reading all these posts about "OMG 5% IS DEATH" and stuff like that, i was expecting it to just look straight black outside at night, but thats not the case at all. You can still make out figures on well-lit roads, and you can see people with their headlights just fine. Only thing is, with 5% tints, not a single person can see in your car at all, night, cloudy days, sometimes even sunny days.....and THAT is what its all about! haha I remember i was still pissed with 15% cuz u could still see in on sunny days, especially from certain angles, and i wanted absolute tint. 5% is the perfect cure.
