I have an AEM cold air intake on my 2.2 97 CL and I was wondering how often I should replace/clean the filter on it and if so what do you recommend i replace it with?

 

get the k&n recharge kit to clean it

Clean it. It only takes a few minutes once you get it out of your fenderwell.

 

how do u get it out of ur fenderwell?

does the performance remain the same......even if the air filtr is bent up alittle

You just pop some pins out of the fender liner and you can get to it. Definately clean it, if its bent you can straighten it some but its not really going to make a noticeable difference. A cleaning kit is about a third of the cost of a new filter and its all you need to do.

 

If the filter is in bad shape just get a K&N filter, i love having my V2, easy access to the filter. Guys how often should you use the recharge kit or just whenever it looks dirty because before the v2 i had a short ram for a while and it never ever in the 6 months "looked" dirty

 

So a KN filter will fit out AEM intakes?

 

ya K&N will fit, just make sure its the same size filter, you might wanna measuer the diamater of the opening at the end of the intake, the one which the filter connects
