Quick Exhaust question

I Have the OEM exhaust set up and over the last 6 months has busted 2 sets of the intermediate pipe right where that spring covered with the steel meshing is...it appears to have just coroded away.....

my question is why is this steel meshhing with srping underneath is there in the first place and not a straight pipe???

if I want to keep oem setup can I still run a straight pipe in the intermediate section right after the CAT???

Where can I find one of these straight pipes...any links???

thankx

if you are running a 3.0, I have a "Test Pipe" if you want (cat replacement).

BUT, I think what your referring to is the flex pipe.

Of course you can do some piping after the cat, people usually go to a muffler

shop and get custom piping and most of the time when this is done, we use a

"resonator" to muffle the sound a little more.

Custom piping is anywhere from 50$ to 250$ or even higher,

all depending on if you have a solid relationship with the muffler man and if he tends

to be a rape artist with his prices or if he is just a quality dude when it comes to mandrels and welds

I'd check out the EGR valve and make sure your o2 sensor is properly working.

that shouldn't be happening.

Any muffler shop can weld on a simple pipe though.
