I'm looking to convert to obd1, are a conversion harness and obd1 computer all I need or is there more? I've digging through old threads that say the your intake manifold has to be changed. Is that true? Motor is a f23a1 any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The salt on the roads here have made the coating on my stock wheels peel causing the tires to leak. Very annoying having flat tires all the time. The noob guide does not mention the stock tire size of 205/55 and I want to be sure that 16x7 with a 40mm offset will be fine with 205/55. I do not want to buy new tires.

I just picked up this 99 2.3 5 speed. The clutch seems to have a long travel before engagement. Is this normal for this car? If not, how do I adjust the travel of the clutch pedal/engagement point? Is there a cable where I can adjust it?

i think you can only make it stiffer by replacing it with a stage 2 clutch other than that i don't you can make it engage earlier than you would like.

Fuel Cell?

Has ANYONE ever tried to replace the factory fuel tank with a smaller fuel cell? I need clearance for the exhaust I am trying to run and well, would rather modify the car than the exhaust.

Any input, ideas, or opinions would be appreciated!

Fuel Cell?

To my previous post.
I thought this was a first Gen CL Q&A. Anyhow, in the case it isn't, I have a 97' CL 3.0.

I'm not entirely sure if one can be installed but I just wanted to know if it's possible to install a front and rear strut bar on a '99 Acura CL. If so, what's the best front and rear strut bar you can buy for the '99 Acura CL? Any information would be much appreciated.

Yes, most 94-97 accord strut bars will work, I really like the cusco bars, I have upper and lower front strut bars

My engine bay has a plastic cover on the top, I would have to remove that permanently to install a front strut bar there right? I'll look into cusco bars for the time being, thanks.

Hi guys, I have a 97 CL 3.0 and need new hub assemblies for a complete brake job but they cost an arm and a leg for the fronts; at least for the 3.0 ones.

The 2.x ones are much cheaper, is it possible to use those instead of the 3.0 ones

Any help would be awesome!

Hello All!,

The 1st car I ever owned was a 1997 2.2 CL Red Coupe that I sold to some guy in Florida with 190,000+ miles. I really miss the car. Anyways, I'm going to New York this Saturday to check out this car in white so I can potentially own it again!:

So, my quick question is what should I be looking for besides rust/flood damage when looking at it in person?

Thank you,
draemux

Since it's an auto trans, definitely test drive it and check for how it shifts. Given that the auto transmissions of these cars are prone to give out that would be the big thing I'd check for. Also the window motors are known to go bad as well so put them down and up a few times to try those as well. Also check for any check engine lights

Does anyone know if Acura still performs recall services this many years after production? I remember on my 1997 there was a recall that entitled me to new plugs, wires, and maybe a cat replacement if my memory serves me right.

I see a lot of people talking about the D2 racing coilovers for our cars, but I don't seem to see which exact model is it - as D2 offers multiple types. Is it the RS series? Or the Circuit Series? Or the Rally series? That allows you to fully dump your car?

I had D2's years ago and they only had 1 type back then, but looking at their site it appears that they only offer the RS Series for our cars which is the flagship coilover

Not true at all. On their site there is the RS series: https://www.d2racingcoilovers.com/pr...ver-d-hn-03-rs
And also the Circuit series: https://www.d2racingcoilovers.com/pr...p12481-c123012

The RS series description says a "60mm~100mm from OE height" drop possible, but the Circuit series says "80mm~120mm" drop, making the Circuit series go supposedly lower. Can anyone confirm that the RS series is indeed the ones that can slam the car? Or is there any other cheaper option that can go stupid low?

I recently got eBay coilovers and they go as about as low the non-low ones (like Teins) - which, is WAY too high for me. I've even maxed out the coils.

Ah right on, I didn't see those when I searched on their site. I will tell you that the circuit will be a lot stiffer given that they're for track. I had 2 track setup coils and they were unbearable to drive for daily driving, but we also have crappy bumpy roads around here

What steering knuckle fitted 1997 acura cl 3.0

I am trying to figure out what all steering knuckles will fit the 1997 cl 3.0

I am looking for a driver side front steering knuckle. I found one on ebay for $190, and I would like to see if I can find any more options that are more affordable.

Thanks in advance!

So far, and please correct any information here that I am sharing that is incorrect, but from what I have gathered, these are the compatible steering knuckles that fit the 97 Cl 3.0:

These keep the original Hub over Rotor design:
1995-1997 Accord V6
1997 Acura 3.0 CL

These support the Rotor over Hub Design
1998-1999 Acura 3.0 CL
1995-1998 Odyssey ( 5 lug design)
1996-1998 Acura 2.5TL
2001-2003 Acura TL/CL ( 5 lug design)

From my understanding the 95-97 Accord V6 and the 97 3.0 CL are identical, as is the 96-98 2.5 TL.

The 95-98 Odyssey and the 01-03 TL/CL are identical, but also support the 5 lug conversion.

Is there some place that I can find a list of transmissions that will fit the 1997 CL 3.0?

I see conflicting information on what will fit, and salvage yards argue about compatibility.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
