Question about modding 99 2.3CL
Ok, newbie here(Whasup?), now this might be a silly question for most you Ack guys, but about modding the 2.3CL...for the intake/header, you say we can use 94'-97' Accord parts. So does it matter whether it's for an Accord LX/SE/EX???
This is really my girl's Ack(I have the Eclipse), and we just got it last week. So we're new to all this Acura/Honda stuff! We want to start modding it right away, so wanted to clarify this!
Appreciate the info...and please, hold the sarcasm! LOL! :o

misinformation here.
you have to use accord Ex engine parts for the header. otherwise it wont fit. so make sure you get a header from an accord Ex.
other than that..... its all just about the same.

o o o o
where as the the Ex is the soch vtec 2.2 motor and the ports look like this.
o oo o
sublte difference, but they dont bolt up to eachother.
here is an intresting tidbit. you can take an eclipse/talon/laser/galant vr4 turbo exhaust manifold and re-drill it to bolt onto the non-vtec accord motor.

oh yah.. make sure you get anything but the DC sports header. get something like the Kamikaze header.... more money, but better power gains. it has a 2.5'' collector before the cat, as opposed to the DCsports ones that has a 2.25'' collector.

On Ebay, there's always people who are getting rid of their cars, and they rip out all the mods and put the factory parts back in.. if somebody spent $3000 modding the car, it's unlikely that they'll see even $1500 for their troubles.. depending on how long they're willing to leave it on the market of course. To me, kind of like putting a swimming pool in your backyard, it adds value but there's also a bunch more people who aren't interested in it and don't want to pay for it as part of a package. I would avoid used headers moreso than a used catback, I understand that there's a breakin period with expansion/contraction cycles and I'm not convinced that the seal would be perfect the second time around.
