Question about drop

Oopse, I posted this on the wrong forum(gallery)....Sorry

Question aboout drop:
The only mod I am really considering is the slight lowering of the car (97 CL 3.0). Could someone tell me what the consequences of doing this are(ride harshness, handling woes, camber trouble etc)? With stock rims, when is there a clearance problem in the wheel wells? How much would I expect to pay for such a mod?
Thanks,
Rick

A Eibach pro kit is what I have. It doesn't drop the car that much and the ride stays about the same. You don't need a camber adjustment with this drop, it is only about 1.5 inches. A lot of guys say to go lower but I don't think mine looks bad. Here is my car with stock wheels. Around $200 for the kit and another $100 or so to put on and wheel alignment.

In terms of handling, would you say it improved by a lot?

I would not say alot, but it did improve. The body roll is less noticable than it was. I still have stock tires on 205/55/16 and a lower profile would help also. If I got in a stock CL right now there would probably be a noticable difference. Mine handles good for the weight of the car also. Dropping the car was the first thing I did when I bought it. Not for handling but there was too much wheel well gap there for me. I still wanted a smooth ride though in which I still have with the pro kit.

I just put in my Pro Kit today, and I'm pleased to this point. As soon as it stopping freakin' pouring here, I'll take her out for some real testing!

I like the drop, and the ride to this point. I also noticed less body roll. Like I said, I'll put her to the test on Sunday!

Cool to hear you are pleased with the drop, yea I wanted to get my car cleaned up today but it has rained all day. I think it will be clear tomorrow so I can get some cleaning done then.

cool

dustbuster4

How many inches did you drop it?

I hate body roll! This sounds like the solution.

I have the Prokits & AGXs & the increase in handling over the stock setup is phenomenal. I could get the crappy tires howling in every corner (and yes, I keep them inflated at 38F/32R) until I did the suspension swap... and now they only audibly complain when I'm really really pushing it. No more severe rolling or wallowing anymore.

My guess is around 1.5"

What ever the "normal" drop is with the Pro-Kit in a 3.0CL.

Anyone know the "usual" amount?
