Question about cold air intake

ok, so i got a cold air intake (yes ebay) and put it on, but right when i was getting it on i noticed at the bottom of the old plastic pipe, there was a little connection that wasn't on the new intake that i got. I was just wondering if it's a problem that it isnt connected

I have some pictures of the hole, its right under the new intake.

thanks for any help, id like to know before i go off and drive it

It is the resenator (sp?). You need to take the plastic off of the bottom side of the wheel well to take it out. Save the clips because you will need to fasten it back on. There is a DIY guide for the 2.x but you will be able to see how it is taken out even if you have a 3.0
