Problems

I already posted on the problem n fixes but since no one likes to go there here I go.

Well i know im due for a maintenance but i dont know where to start.
Im sputtering a lot. Dies numerous times a day. It backfires more ofter that usual. Im guessing my fuel pump is passing on. I know the H22 would kill my pump. Anywho. Around 3-4k she startes backfiring most of the time. Hesitates then takes off. Every time the idle drops after i remove the foot of the gas it drops below 500. Im then hoping the car doesnt just die which it does 5-10 times a day. Keep in mind I just removed and cleaned my IAC. Now the question is am I missing anything besides a normal tune-up? Any advice? Anything else i should look into? Thanks in advance people.

You said it just dies...like it won't start or you're @ a light and it shuts off?

If he's backfiring more often then not, then he must have excessive fuel building up in the exhaust system already. So I'm guessing, fuel might not be an issue. But then again, it's just a guess.

with that logic, check fuel lines, fuel filter sounds like too much fuel.

Could also be an idle or vaccuum problem

Does your engine ever jump when you give it a good amount of gas? If so Its most likly a bad spark plug wire, to me it sounds like something not sparking right.

Im due for new plugs, I know that. I might have some carbon buildup in my mani, yes. Fues pump must go. Im going away in 2 weeks. When I come back i might be takin the intake manifold apart and cleaning it. Is it worth it? How much can I get it polished for you think. Fuel pump is def getting ordered. All ignition is upgraded hence new. Doubt there is an issue there. I could barely keep my car running last night. It would idle at 200rpm.

I would still check the plugs and wires. I've seen it many times, new parts that are no good". Sounds like thats the problem.

spark plugs, wires & connections. I once had the same thing happen to me on my old car. ebrything was fine for a month, then all of a sudden things went wrong. I thought my engine was done cause it was an older car. The problem turned out to be a plug that came loose and was bad. Im no expert but I would think that you are gettin consistent spark somehow.

Ignition recall?
Someone care to fill me in?
I have MSD cap/rotor. Iridium plugs with MSD 8.5mm wires. External SS-Blaster coil with Crane ignition box.

Check the rotor to see if its not cracked and turned slightly setting your timing off... Has happened to me already, however it was in a forklift..

It also sounds to me like plugs. I'd say change them out and see how she runs if you have not done so already.

As for newer parts going bad, I have had my share of that too...
