Yes completely true. If you searched around a little, you would have seen this. The stock shocks not on;y give you a shitty ride with springs, but will die, depending on their age. I have also heard that if you ride on stocks for too long, the springs can become fully compressed and get ruined. But here are your alternatives: Koni yellows, KYB AGX's or Tockicos. These are all for the 94-97 accord but will fit the CL's. Those are going in order of price, and expect around $300 for the KYB's, which most people here have.

The stock ones will work, but will blow out sooner.

I recommend getting them done now.

It's also cheaper to install both at the same time.

agreed. i also reccomend koni yellows. if u got $500 they are worth it. u can crop the car another .4 if u set them on the lower perch and they are fully adj up top for firmness.

look how low my car is with pro kits not sportlines

Yeah I totally agree with this. You will save money on the install by just having them do it at the same time. That's the reason why I haven't dropped mine...no money to do springs/struts and install all at once.

our struts are often called shocks, but they are struts none the less. both do the same thing, dampen the springs.

if you are going to do coilover sleeves you will NEED new struts.

Hey VXCL, with the extra .4 from the low perch, did you need a camber adjust kit? With my KYB's, im just under 1.5" and no kit needed, tires are wearin fine and camber is in specs. But if you have over 1.5" drop, most likely u need a camber kit, and is that a case with the koni's on low perch?

Blazin - everyone here is correct but it's not as much of an emergency that everyone is making it out to sound. I've been familiar with prokits since 90, and although Eibach says they are engineered to work with your stock shocks, what they actually do is decrease the normal life of your stock shock. So If you have brand new stock shocks for example, and you didn't have money for new stiffer struts/shocks, you're stock ones might last a year or so (depending on how you drive), as opposed to 2-4 years. I've been on stock shocks for 2-1/2 years now with a pro kit and they haven't failed yet. Defnitely do both if you have the money, but if not - it's not a big deal.

The fact is, the pro kits are not that much stiffer than stock, nor do they lower ride height that much for it to casue you stock struts to blow in a short period of time. But maybe some other people have had bad experiences, but from my experience it's rare. I've blown more shocks with Tockicos, Koni's and KYB's with race springs than I have with stock shocks and a prokit.
