PRO KIT PROBLEM PLZ HELP rear springs

ok i torched the bushings out but new ones in but the 1 thing that is bothering me is that i didnt even need to compress the rear springs to put the sock back together. is that normal? and with the car up in the air and shock extended i can pull the spring out of its perch. wtf is the deal? thanks for ur help. i want to get this fixed soon cuz i got to go back to penn state and its the only thing stopping me from get u almost finished pics of my hid setup. ill still try and get a video of them mounted in the car and on, but no outer lenses. -MiKE

the fronts were easy, but they were extremely compressed!!! the rears were a nightmare from hell. both bolts sheared in half then i had to cut the welded nut off each of the oem shocks, then finally burn the bushings out. and last but not least get the metal colar out and clean the opening, and then get the new bushings to go in. a 1 day project took me 2 months!!!!!!!!!!! thanks to acura carland for not putting my ordder through the first time. today i got almost everything done. i set one rear koni on the lower perch and the other at normal. turns out with the front springs on the lower perch and the rear in the normal position i got bout .75" gap in all 4 wheels. nice and even! all i got to do is set the one back to normal and i can finally aim the hids.

Yep, if your CL has ever seen salt, sorry, you're gonna have to set the rear bushings on fire (or whatever your favorite technique for removing bushings is ) to get those broken bolts out. Lousy friggin design, having a 4x0.5" bolt that's only threaded at the very end, allowing the rest of the shaft to seize to the bushing.

Otherwise, doing the suspension is no sweat.

I did the install without air tools and it was hard but not impossable (yes, my car spend the first 4 years of its life in NJ so it did see salt and crap and the rears were tight but came out, guess i was lucky) I did a write up if anyone wants it. It can be found in the other thread up top by ACURA-C (think thats who it is)
