I keep seeing the work 3.0 Premium being used...what makes the car a premium edition?

All 1999 models are premiums. The 1997-1998 models include a number of upgrades (mainly leather interior and power driver's seat). Here's the 1997 specs as an example: http://autopedia.com/Acura/97_CL.html

Bose system, leather, heated seats, spoiler(not 100% sure). Basically it means fully loaded.

What about the remote integrated home security and garage door opener buttons up by the reading lights? Is that part of the package?

On my 97 3.0 Premium, it came with extras like leather (leather on the doors) heated seats, and drivers power seat with memory, and bose...im not really sure what elce was different. but yea, fully loaded.

The 97 models didnt come with the garage opener and little dress ups like the chrome around the shift knob...

The one option my car dosnt have is the OEM Acura Fog Lights which were a $300 dealer option. If the dealer wanted to put them on, then he could. mine never came with any. :-(

The premium came with leather, heated dr side memory seat, heated mirrors, sunroof, Bose, cruise, Etched glass, home entrance system (garage door house lights buttons in roof) and optional stock wheels. I don't think the premiums came with a 4cyl. (don't know for sure)
Premium just refers to the everything option list. There were no special markings or badges on my car or any other premium I have seen.

The spoiler was a dealer installed option.

Homelink (garage door opener) was NOT available on the '97 models (nor were the radio crontrols on the steering wheel).

2.2/2.3 could be Premium models.

Bose system was available on the 3.0CL even without Premium package.

All 1999 CLs were Premiums.
