Pre-Cut Tail Light Tint

Been searching around different methods to go about tinting my tails. Not really wanting to spray my tails, in case I need to remove them for any reason. So, I recently found this seller on the eBay. They're Precut vinyl tint sheets for our 1st gens. I had never seen this guy before until today, and I had been looking for precuts for a while. The price is damn reasonable too. The tails in the picture, look just like I want em. I'ma order the 1 dollar sample to see if me likey and I'll let you guys know how it goes. Also wanted to post this to share it with you guys if some are you are hesitant as well about spraying, and would rather go the vinyl route.

That CL looks pretty darn sexy might I add lol.

Confused o.O I never said I needed info on anything. Just stating that I found precut vinyl So spraying can be avoided, and to tint without cutting your own sheets since rockblocker is no longer availiable.

Ima hop on it probably Monday. No shipping on weekends unfortunately. I already ordered a sample so I could get an idea of how dark it will be. And yeah, price is cheaper than most overlays, and it's already cut!

Any tips on the application process ninja?
I know you did yours with film.

Just make sure you use plenty of soapy water, and have a hair dryer or heat gun, as well as a small squeegie and you should be fine, just gotta take your time and be patient, the last thing you want is to rush and miss some air bubbles, there's a deccent video in the diy forum that GN posted a while back that may be worth watching for you.

i dunno guys. I'v been to several tint shops, decals shops and body shops, and they all told me not to use tint for taillights, they all suggested that spray or mix a very small percentage of black paint with clear coat, and shoot the tailight. Because they say the tint might hold for a bit, but it was not design to be outside and to be put on plastic.

You're right, you don't want to put window tint on your tail lights, but these are vinyl overlays. If they are the same as Rockblocker's tint, they will last just fine. I and many other people have been running Rockblocker film for years.

You're gonna want to use a lot of soapy water unless you use foaming glass cleaner or the application spray like I used. You will need a hair dryer and squeegee like Chris mentioned. Just take your time and realize that you have all the time in the world as long as you have enough glass cleaner or whatever. Most little air bubbles will work themself out in a week so don't freak out too bad.

although I know someone that used that cheapo window tint at walmart in the automotive section and it worked fine.. Idk for how long though.

Off the eBay store:

Kit Includes
1. Machine Pre-Cut Vinyl Sheet Overlays. Beware of other seller hand cut version.
2. Installation Squeegee. Not all seller includes squeegee
3. EZ Installation Guide with Picture. See below for guide

So I just need to provide soapy water/foaming glass. Was wondering where I'd get a mini squeegee from lol. Sheets better fit, the TL guys always complain bout the vinyl eBay sheets not fitting properly and leaving part of tailoght showing.

don't forget the heat gun/air dryer, it helps getting bubbles out. I have rockblocker's vinyl overlay. I like it so much that i'm buying another set of taillights instead of removing the tint on the ones i have, just in case i want the look again lol.

I ordered this kit on Wednesday last week along with a whole new front and rear suspension. Been laying low with the beast but she has a couple new tricks left in her. I am def. going to be keeping this car and investing another couple in her after this suspension project. Drilled and slotted roters, ceramic pads, complete front/rear ball joint, tie rods for suspension, master energy bushing kit, koni reds, eiback springs, and ignalls front/rear camber kit. Thank god my buddy a couple houses down is ASE and has a shop in his garage or this would of taken forever to get installed. Looks like I'll be riding smooth by next weekend.

I will be getting it tomorrow or Tuesday for sure. It will be installed same day...Any advice for tinting my spoiler brake light? I'm looking at just custom trimming a piece of tail light vinyl unless there are any other sugg. other than spraying.

at least 5 years here and it's such a good product, a shame they company is no more. And tint film is fine if you have thick vinyl, tint shops mean window tint shouldn't be used because it's too thin

umm...no. It WAS an H22 powered, custom painted CL. The kit was a bit much but it was still an awesome car.

I'm still deciding as well. Spraying seems to be what I'm thinkin. It's a small canvas, so it'd be fairly easy to blend the darkness accordingly with tail light film without worry of an uneven spray job. But dunno.

if he just had a lip kit instead of a body kit on that car it would have been perfect. that paint job was pure awesome.

Well the tinted tail light kit came in today and I have pics of it like I said I would... I am very pleased with the vinyl (color and material is good quality). The kit comes in 60% and also a lighter 30% upon request. The lighter is pretty light IMO and I/m glad i got the darker of the 2. I will be installing this tomorrow along with my exterior led swap, black headlights, smoked lenses, and hid's. As for tonight I better get started on my new drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads!

Good luck with the installs! Let us know how it all turned out. Was that just a vinyl sheet btw? I didn't see them precut there, or do you pull it apart to get the precuts?

Pull apart precuts from backing....there might even be enough extra scrap to get the spoiler light but that might be stretching it hard and prob not possible...I'll let everyone see the results when complete!
